i like musk. i also like tesla.

what i have a problem with is that they are only profitable because of tax-payer sibsidies....aka carbon credits.....mandated by government.

unless they can become profitable without such subsidies....i really can't bring myself to invest in a company that profits from such cronyism.

Don't forget it was during the worse of the pandemic in 2q20. The factory in USA, the showrooms, etc were shut for the entire 3 months. Barring another lockdown, there is no way Tesla will report that kind of low vehicle sales going forward, period. Besides, Tesla has proven it is profitable for 4 quarters straight. Even in the worse of times when nothing moves. That's not a fluke. Further, carbon tax credits are theirs to sell. Imagine in 3Q and 4Q when production and sales of EV are in full swing + sales of carbon tax credits. Its going to be a blowout year.

when they make a profit without the tax credits(tax payer's monies) then come and talk again ba.

right now is not that i dont like Tesla.

to me....it's just morally wrong to invest in a company that's subsidized by tax-payers.

if you make money on it. congrats to u....i just dont agree with how it works right now. :o

A lot of time’s its a bet. By the time they make money liao, maybe their value tripled.

In any case their current value also not based on them making money from tax payers money. Is more than that.

you don't seem to understand what im talking here.

to me...it is just morally wrong to invest in a company that would never have survived without tax payer's money.

you don't have to follow my stand....you can buy and earn from it...kudos to you and i'm happy for u.

but i don't want any part in it regardless of how profitable it can be because it is built on public money that is now going into private coffers. :o

I agree. I think its a matter of time before EV will be the norm. The challenge now is if manufacturers can create cheaper, more efficient and smaller batteries which Tesla is leading the way.

Every month will buy 2-3 Tesla shares to increase the share count.
Don't want to argue with those perma-bear here.

Convention assessment can't be used to assess technology advancement and innovation.

How stupid is to make assumptions of simply putting that as it is just a car with 4-wheel+ battery pack+ some software .

Totally under estimate the power of synthesising the battery technology and unique AI advancements and power storage Eco system.

AI software not important? Convention car makers can catch up? This takes time to build up, no just put investment will do.

People with no background of technology research will likely to underestimate the marvel of synthesising a few technologies together.

I like the ARK innovation ETF CEO assessment.

6% price rise in post market

Yeah!! Stock spilt come just in time for s&p 500 inclusion. Now just need to wait for s&p announcement later this month/early next month. Which I think will happen as market cap and profitability already fit the criteria.

Yes its not possible to tell when tesla is going to be included into S&P. But they are doing all the prep now including this stock split. They are not going to give S&P a chance to have excuses to delay their inclusion. Currently they already meet all criteria. S&P is running out of excuses not to include them.
