"Market volatility is like a tiny rock. When you hold it near your eyes, it seems so big and that's all we can focus on. If we just bring the rock further away from the eyes, all it is, and it will ever be, is just a tiny rock."
In investing, market volatility is healthy and perfectly normal. Of course, sometimes it’s easy to say, and the true test comes when it really happens each time, especially when it's dips & corrections. It’s not easy to see your portfolio red each day.
But what I learnt is the best investors have this one superpower, perspective.
Perspective is being able to look at things from a different lens. Perspective is understanding that if we are investing in quality, innovative companies with a huge runway, the only thing that matters is that the companies continue to execute well, grow their business & win their customers for the long term.
Look at AMZN. Zooming in, 10-30% drops seems scary. But we just got to switch up our lens, zoom out and it's a whole different story.
I believe that through each market volatility, it brings us closer to being a better investor. And over time, instead of market volatility, we will view it as market opportunity.
Let's capitalize on these opportunities together!
