Amazon PE was 1000 back then when I vested, now PE 60 liao. Given current PE of 60 I also wun wan to touch, for what when there are great companies in high growth phase. :s13:

The main point is who the fk using PE to value companies when one should be using sales multiples instead.\

Amazon got no real competition, it was the pioneer of E-commerce in US.

Tesla price to sales also very high, over 30X compared to <1 for its peers.

End of the day I can only conclude that stock market is not rational, this is why I dun invest in single stocks.

The average automaker has a pe of around 10x, at Tesla's 10% net margin and current 50k ASP of their cars, they will need to sell 20m cars each year to justify current market cap of 1T. 20m cars is more than the combined total of Toyota and VW, the 2 largest automakers in the world.

Tesla is a meme stock, nobody cares about pe.

Tesla is definitely not a meme stock

Anyway Amazon is not only E-commerce, AWS is the most lucrative segment. Tesla wise is not only EV, it's more towards robotic and energy despite most of its earnings is mainly on auto. True enough that based on future growth rate, I think it's inflated. Correction will come sooner or later as share price cannot go up in one straight line.

Days were gone when one bot up during 50% off from its high especially Tesla announced that it was going to expand to China by building giga factory at Shanghai which was at 2019. Anyway I had fully exited Tesla at 730 which was at Feb this year cause I think that opportunities had been priced in while out of sudden too much of hype already.

I prefer to invest in SaaS companies which are in high growth phase other than Sea Limited.

I will say Tesla's future is a lot way brighter just a business standalone.

90% to be exact and a big chunk of it comes from selling regulatory credits and FSD vaporware.

Tesla already went to the moon when it was at $500, now its at Mars, maybe next year it will rocket to Jupiter or Pluto, who knows?

My thesis is that wall street will underestimate the ramp up of giga berlin and austin.

In addition, now that Hertz has bought so many Teslas, its competitors in the car rental space will follow suite.

If you look at the tesla delivery website, I believe some models have alr been sold out till Sept next year. More fomo for Tesla will appear. It's a supply constrained company and will sell ALL cars that it produce probably up till next year at least.

Inflation and interest rate hikes will def have some negative impact to the company eventually but fundamentally, the thesis of this company hasnt changed.

Im still DCAing into Tesla at these prices..
That's my plan. DCA.

If you wanna talk about a correct PE ratio.

With the growth of 50% annually, should the price only move only after they prove that they achieved the growth during the quarterly reports?

The answer is NO. Market is forward looking, current valuation make sense if you are looking at the projected growth rate. Of course, the risk is when Tesla doesn't grow accordingly to the projected, expect price to plummet.

In fact, once Giga Berlin and Giga Austin comes online, deliveries number increase, earnings and margin will improve too.

I don't like this... Shooting up way too high. As much as Tesla bull I am , no choice trimming position.. shooting past 80% of the portfolio.... I fear when others are greedy.
I wanted to add when it suppass the resistance at 900 ytd but didnt, now i felt its abit risky with so many fb frens who nv ever trade one suddenly come in to buy cos of the hype

if you noticed last night there was a huge drop from $1080 to 1040 about 11pm plus sg time.. think that was about the timing when catie woods ARK etfs sold some tesla to balance back their etf. ( which is very good thing)
