Hi Aleysth,

Every year the questions change, so my year would be different from your year.

It will be 25 questions + 1 video question where you have to record yourself.

Some questions are typical logic IQ questions, some are simple business questions, some are simple data analytics questions. I would encourage you to prepare yourself by the 2 methods I mentioned in my previous post - take the data analytics bootcamp by VI, and also to do practice DA assessment quizzes online. It is honestly not hard if you prepare. Good luck! :)
Thanks for the tip! I have signed up for VI DA bootcamp as well.

Hello!

I did the interview for SCB on the 18th of Sept and was just wondering if anyone knows when will they likely get back or if will they even get back to me.

Thank you!

I am from the TFIP 2022 DA batch.

I prepared by taking the Vertical Institute Data Analytics Bootcamp which is also under IBF. Subsidized by IBF also. It was really quite helpful because the interviewer for TFIP specifically asked me about that bootcamp experience, and I could share some basic knowledge for the technical questions about SQL, Tableau. Also the fact that you take an IBF course I think shows sincerity in willing to learn when applying for the TFIP in my opinion.

For the assessment (if you haven't already completed), do prepare a piece of a paper, pen and calculator as there will be some math questions. There are 25 or 26 questions, 1 hour to complete. You can also prepare by doing some DA assessment quizzes online. Good luck! :)
Hi Teck Siong & Stevenwyshi,
Currently considering DA TFIP offer now. May I know if this statement (Stevenwyshi’s) was based on personal experience? “The salary after conversion to permanent may be lower than the allowance.”
How many years is realistically I can expect to earn back $7-8k after the 18 months training, assuming get coverted into perm role?
Btw is there any PM function in this forum?
Thanks.

Hi there,

1. I suppose TECHNICALLY the salary after conversion could possibly be lower than the 5.5k allowance, but I have not heard of it happening so far. Everyone I know got an offer of at least 5.5k when converted. The FIs are aware that it wouldn't be nice give an offer lower than their allowance la.

2. What do you mean earn back 7-8k? Do you mean get a salary increment to 7-8k which is what you are getting now at your current job? If so, no one can answer this question as it depends on the FI, job market situation, your personal capabilities, etc etc.

3. Yes, you can PM by clicking on someone's profile.

Would be great if you can stop dreaming.
This kind of pay range is only meant for those with masters in data analytics.
Else just go into middle management also can get this type of salary range.

Hello all. Anybody knows if 2026 will have TFIP? Was planning to do it this year but saw that 2025 is closed and no news on 2026 from official site :(

Seems like no TFIP for 2026. But the other best option is Vertical Institute (also under IBF and SkillsFuture) for career transition into tech.

My batch probably feedback a lot to IBF after a lot of TFIP batch left DBS.
Truth be told if you are posted to a wrong dept or role just to fill up the gap in headcount, chances are you might not even complete the 18 months contract.
Quite a few of my batch needed to take some amount of external certifications just to get hire in the private sector.

Decent allowance but probably not the best career move if transitioning into tech.
I would say even joining an SI might grant you better opportunity to learn more stuff on the job.

I vaguely rmb joining this program about 2-3 years ago, went through few interviews with various banks/institutes, then dbs just randomly called and ask me to go down main office to sign contract the next day with no heads up, then when i said lemme notify my boss first and at least apply for leave, he simply said 'he will get back to me again' and as expected lor, nv called back again

Left a bad taste in my mouth, it was like the DBS guy expected everyone he called to be jobless and avail at a moment's notice liddat lol

Hope is a c e c a HR guy though cause mine was.
during the onboarding process, he was still okay but when there is a role mismatch, he is not the best person to look for advice.

My other colleague was offered a perm role but decided to turn it down, this same HR guy told he emailed the HR for rejecting the role and his bosses was involved in trying to find out why he didn't want to stay on given that he was tasked to be a software engineer instead of a cloud engineer.

The HR that called me definitely not ****, i also dunno how does DBS select the ppl from the program since they didnt conduct any interviews at all unlike other institutes, just call ppl to sign immediately..
