Yeah, with the increase in COE, housing, food and transport, I'm sure the real (nominal minus inflation) rate of increase is negative.

In the US the inflation rate is already 6+%, Singapore imports our good so will be subject to imported inflation too

One thing for sure, I’m not even smelling the median.. chasing that goal post forever..

In before someone tell me to find a better job.. I wished that I can be a high income earner and pay more taxes and not eligible for any handouts. Please pray for me ok..

The median salary also has no meaning for Singaporeans ...

It is median for full-time salaried employees. It includes sinkies, PR, FT. It excludes the unemployed, both long-term and short-term, and the gig workers like grabfood riders.

That's why more than half of all citizens are in the lower income group. (1.4 million is more than half the number of registered voters)
