can I just say... lol. Sony may have improved on display, handling, flaps etc but let's never forget they used the exact same 20.7MP G Lens from Z1 (late 2013) until Z3+ (early 2015) with almost no improvements in post-processing.

i think everyone is excited that they're using a new 23MP sensor for the Z5 series and obviously that brings about expectations. and picture quality is subjective but i've already noticed bland/washed out indoor photos with no crisp from YouTube videos of other reviewers.

it's not bad, it's just kinda sad, that's all. maybe eventually it will look okay but i'm still a little unimpressed by the post-processing of the camera.

anyway, arguments aside, I found that the Combo 3 price for Singtel for Z2 last year was $298 at launch. will Z5 be the same?

Finally a real input here :)

...and actually I don't mind the bland or washed out because it can be corrected even with mobile app.

Only a certain things that cannot be corrected effectively by an app that bothers me.

I am making noise because a simple injection of funds into their software development side can solve it.

Or.... I am still waiting for some Sony staunch supporters to answer my earlier question of where can I switch off the X-Reality function on the Z5, if it can be done as said by other commentators elsewhere? :)

From user guide :
From your Home screen, tap .
2 Find and tap Settings > Display >Image enhancement.

Downloaded here: http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/xperiaz5/supportDocumentation/

Not sure the Z5 pic is post processed sharpen or just the screen sharpened to display.

Maybe can try viewing the Z5 photo from a PC or other phones and vice versa view other phones photo on Z5.

Maybe even print out with other photos just for a better comparison.

Not sure dxo judge by viewing the photo from the phone itself or from PC.

People would have appreciate if you simply point out the pros and cons of Sony, instead of bringing other brands to compare.

You made out yourself to look like anti-fans or trolling, how would you expect others to realise you wanted rational input. :D

Thank you. Just what I needed to give Z5 the second chance.

Will use this info to test the pic quality again :)

Bro, appreciated if you can able to share your findings with the sample photos. But not sure if it is possible to transfer photos from their demo units to our phones via bluetooth also. Any idea?

From some Youtube comparisons of the Z5's photos with other flagships, I feel that the Z5 is worthy of it top DXOmark score. Yeah I know, you cannot just decide a camera is better just by looking scores, I have heard that before but to score that high it must be really good right? It should be among the best or the best. Some might prefer the S6 or G4 or IP 6s photos. Each camera has their own strengths and weaknesses. To each their own ok. No need to fight over it.

And no, the Z5 photos are't washed out as compares to others. In fact its the others that looks more washed out in some challenging lighting. Not the Z5 though. I m not going to provides links or quote specific examples. Its all on Youtube and anybody can go see for themselves.

Good and bad is relative and we can't say a camera is good or bad or washed out by just snapping a few shots with demo units. We need to do a proper comparison.

Look at my post count and if I want to be famous I would make a ruckus at the Apple or Samsung thread.

There is this thing called tongue in cheek. Maybe like someone said, you can do the gooogling :)

Look at my past posts. I did brought out competing brands for years in other forums and they are really sensible about it. Even in another Z1 or Z2 threads.

That is why I'm shocked with all the personal attacks here when someone (not me, see further in this thread) was just criticizing a non-living smartphone.

If they can dish out, man come on, surely they can take it.... or maybe not.

I already got my answer here about the switching off of the X-Reality option to get better Z5 quality.

I think some of you guys in sales here and know the basic that the harder it is to sell to someone, the better it will be for your bottom line when they convert....

...because they are a fighter and when they are on your side, they will be the best referrer of your product.

No need to reply, I will just be lurking here since some of you guys cannot take a few bantering... seesshhh :s13:

Yeah, Sony is basically having weak sales in local market.
Somehow some models like C5 Ultra are still selling quite well as far as I know.

They need to improve the marketing aspects.
But sometimes I am pretty disappointed that some of us know more than the salesperson who is selling the products - giving misguided information like charging phone for 8 hours on first charge.

I guess it is just the way you phrase some sentences.
Anyhow we know that you are just commenting like anyone of us. :D

Yeah, Sony focus seems to be on the Taiwan and Hong Kong markets now. The Sony Xperia Z5 first launch in Asia starts from Taiwan with sales starting immediately after price announcement and with Jay Chou as their spokesperson.
Heard that Sony is quite popular in Taiwan and Hong Kong, and recents phone like C5 Ultra is selling quite well in the Taiwanese market especially.

well... can't blame Sony. just look around, how many is holding Sammy and iCraze? Singapore is not really seem to be their priority. even if Jay Chou come to promo, will we buy it? maybe Sony allow trade in our phones with high discounts to get their phone but dream on...

anyway imo, the telco also play a part. rem, the 6S just launched? the telco have to milk us enough before going to sell the Z5, agreed?

wow the written reviews have been good but the YouTube videos always look.. not so good lol. maybe it's the way the photos are taken.

but don't the Z5 series have this left-side-of-photo-is-blur problem?

In Hong Kong, Sony is more popular than samseng. Here like the galaxy queue for over night. Forgotten which version where SH start selling at 6pm. And people need to queue to next morning to get it.

My friend in HK said, nobody queuing for it meh. Haha.

It's the marketing or how wide that Apple and Samsung publicize their devices. Seldom will you see much Sony ads around the city and marketing plays a big role I suppose to encourage more people to get Sony devices. Exception for Xiaomi though, they didn't have much offline ads around but still manage to gain a ground in the packed Singapore market.
Though it makes those who gets Sony phones in SG more unique because not much will carry the same phone as you haha~ :D

You referring to the Galaxy S3? Yeah that's one of the Samsung phone that people went gaga over it, that long queue is formed just like buying an iPhone, but you dont see it now for Samsung phones already haha.. :s13:
HK is more of like an Apple, Sony market, while SG is more of a Samsung, Apple market~
