from comparison videos I've seen on YouTube, Z5's photos definitely don't look crispy at all. I continually pray the people who do the videos dunno how to take photos because the hype is so strong for Z5 and I'm waiting for an announcement of its release

also definitely going for green. classy and handsome

EDIT: Also don't take DXoMark too seriously imo... iPhone 6S gets 82, same as the Z3+ lol but Z3+ takes crappy photos.. like the Z3

SONY all the way for me (though my first tablet was ASUS cos before Tablet Z, its predecessors were ugly and bulky)

But if you ask me, choose LG cos I don't want SONY to be a common phone like iamalamPHONE and Galactica

You should be encouraging others to get Sony.
You do know less and less people choose Sony, the more it can't survive. It's trying its best to increase it's market share and stay afloat.

Depends what you are looking for. Battery life, stable firmware updates and camera is in sony camp.

If software processing is in Apple's favour then how come iPhone 6s only to rank 10th place? That says a lot about iphone 6s camera.

Its no surprise that iPhone 6 only managed 10th place because they are still using an old 1/3" sensor and only bumped up the resolution from 8mp to 12mp whereas the Z5 uses an all new 1/2.3" sensor. The other Android flagships that outscore the iphone 6s have sensor sizes ranging from 1/2.3" to 1/2.6". So the smallest sensor still belongs to the iphone 6s. That is what you get when Apple puts in lower spec hardware and try to optimise it with software.....and rips off consumer by charging top dollar

physical spec doesnt mean a thing if the software cannot do a damn thing about it.....

iPhone camera software is so dummy proof and optimized that anybody can just shoot and most of the item it works flawlessly..

not everbody is pixel peeping..
ppl just want something that easy to work with and can upload to social media for consumption..

and if u see the breakdown of the score.. iPhone only score lowly on noise and texture which if u use it for social media.. most of the pic are not a concern
but the autofocusing is one of the highest..

that explain why some camera even not high in score.. but high in other quality that matters to most consumer

Yeah, I been looking thru so much samples of Z5 photos, mainly in Taiwan forums where the phone is launched already. Many hardcore Sony users commented that the photos output is still not there yet.

One thing I do not understand, the 5X Zoom on the Z5 is terrible, the M5 did a better job.

That is the problem with most people. Asking for quality in phone camera but not wanting to pay for dedicated camera.

actually Sony does have very good phone. not sure why everyone going for Samsung?? marketing?? Samsung skin is tooooo heavy. and don't even have the double tap features.

You are damn right! The iPhone software is the best when it comes to processing photos to look good to the majority of people. But they are not the best because as consequence,they are less true too. Majority of the time the scene that you want to capture is far from ideal but the iPhone process it to make it look ideal to your eye. Its just like when you edit your pictures to look better than theactual scene/subject but that also means their pictures are less true.

The best cameras will try as best as they can to accurately capture subject and scene. But that also means that its photos will not look good because as we know, the majority of scenes are far from ideal. On the other hand, photos captured by the iPhone are processed and enhanced to look more appealing and they should look better than the Z5's photos to most people viewing on phone screens. Most consumers, especially loyal iPhones fans like teenage girls who love iPhones to death and ignorant aunties and uncles and office ladies only care that their photos look best on their comparatively low resolution iPhone screens and Apple has optimised that to perfection. Yeah, Apple is best at that, doesn't matter if its not the best so long as it sells.

Consumers don't need the best, they only need what they like best. The Z5, S6, G4 may capture scenes more accurately but most people will find that they don't look as appealing as the iphone's optimally-processed-for-viewing pleasure photos.
