Yes. I will be getting the Z5 Premium Dual to replace my Z3 Dual.

I managed to test it during the launch event and here are the general thought including from conversation with others at the event;
* camera final output have little to none of improvement from previous Z series.
* main bugbear is the over-sharpening effect, an issue dating back to the original xperia Z. Most attendees prefer minimal sharpening so that they can control it later using Snapseed app or other photo editing. Once you over sharpen, it is difficult to bring it down a few notches.
* the over sharpening causes what some called it "mottling" or "watercolour effect". This was very apparently when they showcase the final output from pictures taken during that event on their tv. Was not so bad on small Z5 screen but photo enthusiast will get the idea that it will be a problem when cropping or recomposing pictures.
* Camera UI little to no improvement from previous version.
* ISO can only be changed at 8MP and below. Not a choice at 20MP and above.
* low light capabilities is awesome, on par with other new phones.
* 4K display is amazing for viewing. A pleasure to spend some time watching great content.
* 4K youtube will render well on the Z5P as vouched for by event ambassador.
* General UI is smooth, as expected during any new phone launch.
* Sony cast, like chromecast, works well with their tv. Games played well on it.
My personal conclusion is that the Z5 is great for consuming content but those heavy on creating content might want to take a long hard look at it![]()
got z5 premium dual
Except those sample images from official websites of respective phone maker. The professionals are still sticking with their dedicated cameras for quality pictures, since pictures taken from phones are mainly good for casual photographers.
I never expect any great progress for such small lens in a phone.![]()

Hard for Sony since they can't explicitly says their z5 is better than Alpha... LOL
Those images are real, but taken at the best possible situations and settings which casual users will almost never achieve.
On the other hand, it is easier to take better shots with dedicated cameras compared to a phone.![]()
Don't get me wrong. I myself own DSLR for photography and can't be denied, using dedicated tools for dedicated task is unbeatable.
I really don't like those phone keep selling cameras on such a tiny slab...srsly, if anyone need a good device to have good photos please...get a ......
Otherwise, if you look at it, it is getting harder to sell phones without those few basic selling points - design, screen, camera, battery, etc.
People are like the idea of convenience with smartphone.
Who still wants to carry around dedicated camera, music player, speaker, game console when makers claimed you can do all these with smartphone.![]()

If Sony come up with some mp3 player similar to sansa clip, I confirm support.Otherwise, if you look at it, it is getting harder to sell phones without those few basic selling points - design, screen, camera, battery, etc.
