Pre-ordered in Sony stores? Wonder if I should wait till it launches in the neighborhood shops.. Prices will definitely be lower than RRP

Yup at Somerset 313. Pre-ordered on Sunday through a friend of mine who's a Sony staff and there's a special staff discount
But 27 sep was the last day of the staff pre-order for z5. Luckily made it just in time to place order.

Hmm actually all along I love Z series waterproof capabilities (for my runs outdoor and not to worry when it rains) but the camera snapping all along super slow until I saw the z5 auto focus and snapping speed so I supposed it is "on par" with the s6 so hands itchy le hehe

Yes, they would not put SD card into the demo sets anyway.

We would need someone to test the camera with a high speed SD card when the phone is available in the market.

The Sony Xperia Z5’s camera has been reviewed[1] by experts DxOMark and has gone straight to the top of the rankings. The Xperia Z5 delivered a score of 87 points, edging the Samsung S6 Edge into second place. DxO declared the phone to have the best photo score amongst all devices ever tested.

Also interesting new Nexus 6P going straight to number 3, was number 2 before Z5 took top spot. A surprise for the Nexus line up.

DxOMark test makes me want to see the Z5 again.

Maybe like some said an update to the camera side is due and will be different from what I've seen during the launch event.

Wonder why DxOMark didn't talk about ISO not being able to change at 20MP and above? SG launch test set not updated?

I think the ISO part is not a major issue across the smartphone category, so it is not main concern when it comes to overall scores.

It would only be a concern for dedicated cameras.

- Impressive autofocus in all conditions, the best tested to date.
- Very good white balance and color rendering in most situations.
- Good flash exposures with pleasant white balance and good detail preservation.
- Good detail preservation in both good and low-light conditions.
- Thin noise in low light.
Cons
- Artifacts visible with blue sky saturation.
- Skies sometimes burnt on high dynamic scenes.
- Using flash, a slight attenuation is visible in the corners.

- Impressive image stabilization that’s far ahead of the competition.
- Good autofocus behavior.
- Good detail preservation and noise level.

- Sometimes tremors are visible, even using a tripod.
