I mean to say market reaction in early stage lah... so far market indexes little or no effect (1 ~ 2% can’t exactly bother) ..... though I can observe China-related funds drop >4% within last 1 wk.... CQQQ down like 8~9% from its peak ..... my observation only.

I don’t know about SARS, but I heard it took market 3~4 mths to find the bottom.... maybe this time is shorter, we can’t even feel it?

Were you old enough to experience or remember what happened during the SARs period? So do not say it is early stages... When it comes to a health scare or lives, nothing is too early.

Impact still not big enough so far, largely contained in China. Only China market will be impacted now until it starts to spread in other countries then we will see the stocks correcting.

Reit with exposure in CN or nearby will likely affected.

Yes, I think China related REITs and consumer/retail/travel businesses are in the first line to be sold. But there may also be a general sell off because people just "feel" that markets are too high already.

Is the bear awoken? Time to start buying some on the way down. My gut feel is this is just a short term correction.

Any guess on how much China market will drop on next Monday?

Not very familiar with the HK connect. Are Chinese investors able to trade H-shares this week? Does the HSI provide any clue?

Estimating around 6-7% drop as per today. The trend is still bearish and there is more room for the market to trend down.

The Chinese markets dropped 7-8% today. Your estimate is very close :)

This is based on offshore Chinese markets. Chinese futures trade on many markets including HK, SG & US and these markets were open until yesterday. So it is easy to estimate how much China will fall upon open.

I'm going to go in

Buy no scared, scared no buy
Be greedy when others are fearful
Time in the market, beats timing the market
Dollar cost averaging
Fundamentals have not changed
Long term, Dow Jones and s&p always increase
Every second you are not in the market, you are losing via opportunity cost
