Was at tokyu hands last night. Looks really trendy. But most of their back support i feel either normal or none at all though. But price wise porter also not cheap. At sunshine city saw a porter backpack that looks slim & nice but $400+ I said forget it.

Japanese backpacks tend to have very little foam on their straps and back. You better look at USA brands then.

I don't have cpl24 so cant compare. But I have Goruck G1 and Brown Buffalo conceal. I sold off my brown buffalo and have not use G1 since I got Axiom 18. The bag is very light even after I put my stuff.

But honestly their looks really trendy to me. But I prefer function + form. Honestly the back support I prefer mesh type but with urban look without looking too much like a trail hiking bag. I probably need to design & manufacture my own hahahahaha

Thanks. Based on google search, don’t really fancy visvim backpack though. I missed out saying I prefer minimalist type of design (on the surface but with hidden bells & whistles)
As a reference, I like cpl24 look (although I don’t intend to get it) & absolutely hate goruck look, sorry goruck lovers, I just don’t see the attraction.

Haha, same here. I just simply don't like Goruck backpack design, especially the external slant pocket, doesn't look nice in my opinion. Everyone has their own tastes and preferences. :s13:

Haha but the cpl24 has a vertical zip for the front. More easy for things to fall out i guess? And yah with so many zips and different compartments on the cpl24 external, just seems too busy a look compared to goruck.

Yeah. The front zipper is just one of the cons. I happen to like the designed numbers of zipper compartments provided it is has a subtle minimalist look. If it had a better back support, I might get it. But for now I don’t have that inclination.
As for now I am carrying black ember citadel, while waiting for koala-gear Jay to arrive. Since here in Japan, wanted some ideas which brands/models to get.

got pros got cons, the vertical zips helps when u sling ur backpack to the front to access your wallet etc. but of course, everything will fall down to the bottom unless you find a panel to hold things upwards (panel will take up space in a already small estate space)

but this one very personalised, we can highlights the pros and cons but u need ownself see your preference lo :D

Yeah. I also have to mention the vertical zipper can compromise but it’s on the wrong side for me. I am right handed & I unsling first on my left.

Is the 18 one too small for 2/3 days trip?

the bag will contain everything you need for the 2/3 days trip? or is it just a day pack?

if its the former - yes its too small. the axiom24 might also be too small, you need a bag in the 30L capacity.

if its the latter - no, its fine for a daypack :o
