my hoot is jiayu g4 black.
specs: 1.2GHz quad-core MT6589, 1GB ram, 4GB rom, 3000mAh battery x 2. android 4.2.1. cost $292 not including courier

benchmark scores:
AnTuTu = 13,045
Vellamo = 1,476 (html5), 452 (metal)
Quadrant Standard = 4,001, CPU = 9,165, Memory = 3,378, I/O = 4,951, 2D = 254, 3D = 2,257

*wifi – no problem so far
*camera – so far so good.
*GPS – it’s bad. installed Faster GPS and GPS Test to help and currently still testing
*capacative buttons – no backlights but I’m fine with it
*3G – no problem so far
*screen – ips screen is really good
*battery – first full charged on 3 jul, 4pm. Battery level reached 1% on 6 jul, 7pm. dat's 3 days!!! now on second batt with 38% left.
*I’m not a gamer so no inputs.
*ui - it's great

compared to my ino one which bought at $268, jiayu g4 is so much better value.
satisfied with it though i had to wait for almost 1 mth

other review from gizchina review

updated my rom to 20130620 plus the screen upgrade.
ran the same tests and results below

AnTuTu = 13,058
Vellamo = 1,447 (html5), 457 (metal)
Quadrant Standard = 3,975, CPU = 9,014, Memory = 3,395, I/O = 4,919, 2D = 254, 3D = 2,295

because my previous rom resulted in sensitive touchscreen problem and also the screen will kinda flash itself every other time. read dat the new rom would help. also read dat it helps in gps

touchscreen problem seems resolved as the feedback is much better so i'll assumed the screen flash is also resolve :s8:

Good news! I works with sygic gps.
Looking UMI another solution X1 What I did was copy the files epo.mdb and epo.dat to system / data / misc with gpp off and then enter the engineering mode * # 3646633 # * # * gps enabled YGPS and then click Full Cold and then in A-Gpsrestart. Go to satellites wait 3, 4 minutes turn green and Sygic works and I pass the link https://www.dropbox.com/s/badabz5ms6wdp3m/Epo.rar

this? ...............

got it thru taobao.

price now for my edition ie not turbo n normal edition is cheaper.
back then, i ordered n waited for one month then i got the phone.

for now, even though g4 elite model, 2g ram n 32gb rom, has been released,
it would be snapped up due to limited stock and also it require buyer to register certain number of post count in jiayu forum in order to buy. to sum up, it is not easy to get g4 even if u have money. kinda like xiaomi

So the previous Feiteng H9500 phone had a camera auto-focus defect and I ended up sending it back for refund instead and I ended up buying another handset called the XS i9500.

1280 x 720, 5.0 inch (720p)
MT6589 Quad core
4GB internal, 32gb microSD support
2GB ram
8MP Back, 2MP front cam
OS JellyBean 4.2
Battery 2800mAh

Look and Feel
Once again, it feels exactly like an S4 but with more weight. Still very comfortable weight.
Physical buttons are very responsive and fit properly but Home button is slightly stiffer compared to the Feiteng and the Note2 (still responsive). Capacitive buttons work exactly as experienced on the Galaxy phones.

Display
Nothing to comment here, 720p IPS LCD. Just pump up the brightness and the screen looks brilliant. I actually prefer the China LCD colours compared to Samsung's AMOLED. Especially when Jellybean has lots of blues in the colour scheme and AMOLED blues are terrible.

No issues on touch sensitivity as well. Very responsive UI with stock 4.2

2GB ram seem legit. Compared ram availability with Note2 side by side and performance is similar.

Battery Life
With a considerably huge battery at 2800mAh (and they give 2 as well), battery life is excellent.

Estimated usage: 30 mins of Candy Crush, Gmail/Outlook at 1hour sync, Twitter 15-mins, habitual phone check every 10-15 mins(ie check whatsapp and stuff). Facebook/Browser usage for 1-2 hours.

Compared to Note2 with similar usage, it is only slightly poorer ending up with around 5-10% less for same timeframe.

Retail set comes with 2 batteries so confident that won't get caught in battery-flat situation. Haven't found a need to swap batteries yet.

Sound and Video
Sound playback quality through speakers and earpiece (Logitech UE 200vm) is significantly better and louder compared to the Feiteng and not much difference to my iPod Nano.

Volume-wise also significantly better than the Feiteng so no issues with ringtones, notifications or alarms.

No issues with video playback using MX player.

Connectivity
For 3G/2G and WiFi, the connectivity seems better compared to the Feiteng on general and no issues with dropped calls/SMS.

For GPS, as with most MTK chipsets, just don't use it. I would say that it is just barely usable (to find location and stuff) but don't rely on it.

Locking on took a long time. Reception is easily lost even in cars/buses.

Acceptable performance only when in open space.

Camera
As with MTK chipsets, camera is not the strong point.

Used the stock camera app a few times. Can capture with zero shutter lag. Image quality not as good compared to Galaxy phones but no issue for Facebook/Instagram use.

Apps, Storage and System

Internal storage 4GB exists as a single partition (around 2.4GB free) so no confusion unlike the Feiteng (recap it was Internal Storage 1GB + Phone Storage (1.4GB))

Managed to fit all my apps comfortably without any issue by moving a few bigger game apps to SDcard

Ordered from Aliexpress and Google Play and all was already working out of the box.

2GB Ram allows for opening multiple apps with no lag. Can request with seller to root before shipping as well.

Extras
Phone shipped with screen protector pasted and a back-replacement-flip case was included as well. Native S4 cases cannot fit sadly.

Colors availability is Blue/Grey/White but I got the blue set which is very similar the the blue Galaxy S3.

Conclusion
Paid a slightly higher price compared to the Feiteng but I felt it was still low enough considering the revised specs.

For the fussy, the dealbreakers here would be :
poor GPS (present in all MTK chipsets I think)

For those interested, this seller was the only one I found that actually shipped this S4 clone with 2GB ram. All the similiar listings either had 1GB ram or lower resolution screen versions.

Paid $187 USD + $23 USD for DHL (arrived in 4 days)

ask away if interested. would try to help.

Not all MTK phone got bad GPS.
My Lenovo S890 is pretty quick in logging location, say less than 3sec.
But that is after FasterGPS fix.

Received my Iocean X7 youth turbo on saturday. Order from taobao and forwarded to SG by Hirakawa.

About package

paid 1189 yuan for item, $20 sgd to hirakawa for shipping.
Package included phone, headphones, plunger handphone stand, Sim to micro sim cutter ( like a stapler), micro sim to sim card adaptor and one hard plastic handphone case.

Pros

-Beautiful screen (full HD)

-Light. i thought the phone was hollow before i put the battery in. Even with the battery, it is still thin and light.

-smooth. i opted for the turbo version with 1.5 speed and it is really quick.

-good in hand. Although it is a 5 inch screen, it is actually very good and comfortable to hold. The width of the phone is not very big but the height is, in order to get 5 inch screen. Also, it is quite thin, unlike other 5 inch phones.

-1 sim card and 1 micro sim slot

-Battery life is so-so. Can last a day with my usage.

-12.6 megapix camera given. The phone was advertised on the official site with a 8 megapix camera but on antutu, it says i have a 12.6 megapix camera. I think audiology ordered a X7 youth that came with a 12.6 megapix camera wrongly attached too.

-responsive touch screen.

-HSDPA on m1. Good wifi reception too.

Cons

-only 4Gb internal storage. This is the youth turbo version.

-the 3 buttons at the bottom do not have lights.

- the gps takes a long time to fix , without 3g or wifi assistance. I think most MTK phones are like that. However, i seen people use a copper plate to boost the antenna signal of the GPS.

Conclusion
Good specs of the phone together with the light weight and thin body makes it a good phone to consider. All below $300.

in fact, it has taken over as my main phone.
