Insta360 X5 features two 1/1.28" sensors, both images combined for the final image/video.

DJI Osmo 360 specs still not officially released though. If 2x 1 inch sensor that could give the image quality a lead. If combined area of 1 inch sensor then that is something else.

imo.. its not about the sensor or what not...

its about the app to create the video...

X5 was released very quickly after X4..likely to mitigate DJI's upcoming 360 release. Battery consumption and heat will be an issue DJI will need to resolve. The compute required to edit so much raw data will need really top tier gear.

InstaStudio while using AI was great initiailly..I only use the templates now. Creativity is still human.

imo.. that is how gopro died

alot of other reasons..drone failure, product innovation left behind, going into TV media..instead of disruptor GoPro got disrupted by Insta and DJI.

The truth is I never owned a single GoPro even during its heydays so I can't comment. I was using Adobe Premiere with a Contour camera which was GoPro's competitor during its peak. The Contour even survived being mounted under my friend's plane. Was so scratched -up when it fell of cars so many times

Insta360 has been in the 360 market for so long it is not going to be easy to dethrone their mature ecosystem with (dji's) first foray.

But still good that a major player entering to shake up the 360 space.

true - competition is good. all my insta360 accessories are "3rd party"

i wonder if DJI is gonna claim waterproof capabilities... insta360 lied about the waterproof capabilities of the X-series..one really needs the dive case to use in underwater conditions.
