ok, challenger/hachi selling dji spark fly more combo at S$899 these few days.... please quickly go grab your spark.... i'm helping challenger/hachi to promote spark not because of any commission, they don;t pay me anything... i'm asking more people to buy spark because we are having too spark buddies here.... :s13:

if you are new => suggesting you go get a JJRC H36 or Syma X21W/720p first. Learn flying, understand drones' features/limitations. Then decide what you want next.
if you are "half-pail of water" type => yeah, please get a spark. I'm also half-pail. And trust me, you need that 2-stick remote control for spark.
if you want cheap and good => go get a Phantom 3
if you are that real sporty type => go get a mavic
if you are professional photographer => then go get a Phantom 4 or Inspire

but note that, at the end likely you still need a dji spark as a standby/second drone. Because this is the only dji drone that is least dangerous to kids and could take indoor selfie. Spark also giving you the convenience of very small size to carry around, and simple on-and-fly with little extra setup. Some nice Spark video from youtube to entice you... :s13:

=> we need more spark buddies here.... hello where are all my spark buddies.... :(

This morning first time flying my spark outdoor,.... :s8:

Quick cameras comparing: DJI Spark. Firefly Q6, Hubsan H502. The Firefly Q6 is strapped onto Hubsan H502S.
DJI Spark fly more combo package is selling at S$899 here in Singapore, which is 5 times more expensive than Hubsan H502S of S$180. The Firefly Q6 camera cost about S$65.

Note:
- I might had made some mistakes in the Firefly Q6 camera settings. Normally the video output is better than that.
- The drones regulation in Singapore prohibits hanging something loosely onto the drones. And I do not know if strapping a camera firmly onto a drone is allowed. haha.... :s13:

why are we having so few sparks friends here?... everyone prefers flying mavic ah?.... :(

wow! no new spark friends, everyone wanna buy and play mavic.... :(

let me give you 10 lame excuses of why you should buy a spark this x'mas, and not a mavic.... ;)
1) price: spark is half the price of mavic, giving you extra unused S$600-700 for a Xiaomi Mi drone 4K... Do you buy "a single mavic" or "buy a spark plus a Xiaomi Mi Drone 4K"??.... Mi Drone is more macho than Mavic.
2) safety: spark is much smaller and safer. Spark is 1504 motor, 4.7" propeller and 0.3kg. Mavic is 2208 motor, 8.3" propeller and 0.73kg. If you get cut by drones' propellers, which one will bleed more? And spark's smaller propeller guards can be more sturdy.
3) indoor: you can fly a spark indoor for some quick selfie, but you will have difficulties getting a mavic to do that.
4) kids friendly: If you are flying a mavic at the small parks/gardens of hdb estate, parents will be dragging their kids away for safety precautions. If you palm launch a Spark with propeller guards, everyone will feel much more comfortable with it.
5) palm launch/landing: less chances the propellers and camera are damaged, or the lens get scratched
6) as x'mas gift: cheaper, safer, more fun, more gesture control gimmick
7) quick startup: It only takes about 20 seconds for a spark to turn on, self diagnose, linked to remote control, and starts hovering in the air (gesture control 16sec). Mavic will take longer with the unfolding and etc.
8) cheaper replacement: if you crashed or lost you spark, it cost only S$599 for replacement, and you could utilize your old remote control, battery, propellers, chargers. You need to pay S$1K+ if you crash or lost your mavic.
9) video quality: I think 80-90% of home TV and monitors are 1080p. So the 1080p video produced by spark is good enough. You do not need mavic's 4K video unless you are professional photographers. And most of the time it is that "sunny weather" and that "correct moment" giving you the perfect pictures/videos, and not how good your equipment is. Spark already having video camera quality as good as mid-range handphones.
10) tons of regulations here: with the 200ft altitude limit here, the HDBs are blocking all your flight path and your camera view. So where do you want to fly your big mavic ah?

And, is there any shortcoming of spark? no! there is none, spark is perfect.
I will pm you spark's problems, if any, after you had bought your spark!! :s13:

Wow!! finally found more sparks friends here!.. :s12:

Since you guys bought already, so now tell you very first problem... :s13:
Today flying at Petir Park, too windy day and spark had problem handling the wind. Even mavic may be also cannot make it. Need a Mi Drone, or Phantom 3.

I think quite difficult to crash a spark if you:
- Do not fly in sports mode
- Do not fly those AutoPilot (Waypoint, Orbit, waypoint etc)
- Do not rely on that obstacle avoidance
- Keep within line of sight
- Try hand launch/landing (dirt will not get into motors, lens not scratched)

My flying very simple: I only up my Spark to 100+ft. Rotate it and take video. Then bring it back. After that I shout Spark very good!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
17 Dec 2017, DJI Spark at Petir Park, Bt Panjang S'pore
- Sunny, very windy, No ND Filter
- 58m altitude, believe already overshot 200ft AMSL
- Raw Video; No Color, Contrast, Sharpening adjustments
- No additional digital stabilizing
Hi,
haha, I know someone had been flying few kg size helicopter in tampines for past 10yrs, and he is still flying... :s13:
I'm staying in CCK and only place outside NFZ is TeckWhye Football field. Sometimes I do fly at just within the 5km border but keeping my drone in very low altitude of <20ft, and small quadcopter size like Spark.
Once you got your spark, you will know it is very stable hovering at one spot in the air, either indoor or outdoor. Spark is expensive but much safer than those <S$200 quadcopter that could suddenly ram into someone.
I flew DJI spark outdoor 3 times, and I think the limits you have to watch out is never fly too high above HDB blocks during very windy days. If you keep your spark within 30m from you, put on propeller guards, do not use any Auto-Pilot modes or gesture control, it is of little chances that it will get crashed or injuring someone.
Have fun, and Merry X'mas! ;)
Hi, ok,
if you have not bought, don't rush into it. Spark is a Video drone. It is not designed for and also too expensive for fun flying, racing or aerobatics. It might not be what you want. I can show you what you will get from spark.
if you are new to drones, may be you can pm blade81 to arrangement for more drones types. We have quite some rojak drones like spark, H501C, H502S, bugs3 etc, but no phantom/mavic.
merry x'mas... :s8:
haha,... you don't have to look for me liow... spark is just younger and smaller brother of mavic... and also may be you are already more expert in dji drones than me...
are you manning a shop? spark is still quite difficult to fly indoor. Try some cheap cheap tiny indoor drones like syma x21w or jjrc H36. Is cheap <S$50, good and more effective. Better don't waste $$ on a spark. Cheap syma x21w and jjrc H36 work well in killing boredom but spark not designed for that.
have fun and merry x'mas!! ;)
Was trying the new toy this morning. Was quite worried it will go missing or drop suddenly hahah, guess I'm not used to it. Can I ask the senseis here how to to exactly control via the remote controller? The phone isn't as intuitive for me
after spark powered up and idling, press and hold down power button for:
3 seconds (1 beep) to fly with your remote control
6 seconds (2 beeps) to fly with your phone
9 seconds (3 beeps) for a wifi reset
Don't count the seconds in your head, count the battery's green LED blinking
for pairing spark with remote control:
1. Power on the aircraft and the remote controller.
2. Press and hold the Flight Pause button, the Function button, and the customize button simultaneously on remote control.
Normally I got to try few times to get it linked/paired, and it seems like once you switched over to phone control, it lost the RC pairing. => so better leave the spark always controlled by remote control.
if still cannot get it work,... go watch youtube... :s13:
