hello! blade,

what's the range you get for jumper T8/T12?

My FS-I6 and FS-A8S pair gives me only about 50-100m. The drone hits 50m distance in seconds easily, then crashed.

That problem could also be due to I have 2 mavics beside me. I'm thinking of changing my FS-I6 to Jumper T12.

I only use the t12 multiprocotol for whoop and other micros which I seldom fly those out of 100m.

On my larger quads I run tbs module which I tested 1km +- (rated 40km)but I only did I once or twice as I don't really like flyin long range nor do I have a long range efficient GPS Quad.

Your best option is to install a 2000mw booster which can probably double your existing range. I hit about 700m with a built in 2w booster on my old t8sg.
But I do encounter failsafe during wet weather (morning dew) within 300 metres with a booster setup

Hi all. Newbie here. Wanna get a drone for aerial shots of houses and kids activities. Was looking at the DJI spark but it seems like they seem to be out of stock. Are there any shops that sell them still?

someone selling new set spark+remote control combo S$559 at carousell now. but that is not that cheap, i remember hwzlite bought his spark fly more new set at around S$600 from lazada. spark+remote control combo does not come with charging hub, 1 battery only, and no bag. go ask that "hwzlite" in this forum where are the buying lobangs.

and, there could be a new "Mavic Mini" coming out from DJI soon. spark price new or used sets will be in lelong then... ;)

i checked banggood's website,
FS-I6 is <20dbm, or about <100mW RF power on ISM band
Jumper T8/T12 is 22dbm, or about 160mW RF power on ISM band (overshoot allowed limit)

You mod your T8SG? soldered a 2W booster inside?

Using 2W booster is scary. let me try switch to a Jumper T12 first. I should be able to borrow a T8SG from my drone kaki to test out first. Unmodified T8/T12 should have a longer range than my FS-I6. FS-I6 cannot have antenna changed easily also.

And, what are the more reliable receivers for T12? I'm on tiny 1.5" - 2.5" quads, with 1103-1105 motors, so receivers have to be 1-2g weight. I only have few pcs of compatible FS-RX2A aound.

Last time before the gimbal broke n I switch to t12. I don't run booster on my t12. I use frsky xm+ or rxs-r.

Mavic Air should be the best choice. But note that reliable range for Mavic Air could be only about 200m inside S'pore. This is due to lower RF transmission power limit allowed by IMDA inside S'pore, and also too much RF interference inside S'pore. Reliable Range for my Mavic2 is only about 600m inside S'pore. Mavic Air is Wifi, MavicPro/Mavic2 is OcuSync. I do not own a Mavic Air and never flew it before. Anyway unlikely to go wrong with Mavic Air as first drone.

guess Fimi X8 and Hubsan H117S should give you longer range, but photo quality might not be as good as Mavic Air, and no obstacle avoidance, Vision position and etc. also much heavier and another set of other problems. :D

Yea, Thanks so much for the info. I went ahead and bought the Mavic Air. Sorry, can u tell me more about the reliable range you mention? does that mean in Singapore I can only fly 200m away from where I am standing at in Singapore? ?But in other countries, I am able to fly more than 200m?

I was so eager to fly and went to some open field near marina cruise center. After calibrating, realise I cant fly due to F1. :s13:

Any recommended place where i can purchase accessories for mavic air? such as nd filter etc

Hi. I have a Mavic Air too. Have tried flying it around Marina Barrage. However, I lost signal over the waters where people do dragon boating. Luckily, my drone flew back to home position by itself ( I had no control over it during that time). City areas tend to have alot of wifi interference.

I have flown my mavic air overseas with little to no problems at more than 200m in wide open fields or beaches for example.

I am thinking of upgrading to Mavic pro 2 in the near future because of ocusync. Wifi is just not strong enough at times.

Hi, some countries allow higher transmission power. for e.g. 2.4G wifi power limit inside s'pore is 100mW, whereas it is 1000mW in USA or taiwan.
So, if you are outside s'pore, you should not have range problem with Mavic Air/Spark. DJI Go4 automatically adjusts the Wifi power.

https://w.wol.ph/2015/08/28/maximum-wifi-transmission-power-country/

For me, 100-200m range is quite OK to fly in S'pore. I'm happy with my Spark. Anyway the max altitude limit is 60m everywhere in S'pore. Unless you are having same problem as me of normally there are another 2 or 3 MavicPro/Mavic2 flying beside me and jamming all my signals.

If longer range needed, then you need MavicPro or Mavic2. For professional photographers or anyone buying new sets, go for Mavic2. If you just want to have some leisure flying and intend to get a used set, then MavicPro is value for $$.

Hi, blade

I borrowed a T8SG from my friend, tested it on betaflight configurator only, not flying yet.

I think the centering of T8SG's joystick/gimbal is a problem. the auto-spring back to center position is not giving some consistent value. It can be +-8 points off.
On FS-I6, this center position is very stable, normally only +-1 counts when centered. and only very small dead band of 2 counts, if need to setup.

Question:
Your T12 is hall effect type?
Can the hall effect joystick/gimbal on T12 solve this stick centering problem?
All the standard T12 comes with Jumper JP4-In-1 transmitter module?

dunno I not using
dunno but mine comes with it
set a deadzone in bf. problem solved.

Wan to rent marvic2 for 1 day
Pm me the rates

try carousell, there are people advertising Mavic2 rental

Can’t decide on XiaoMi Fimi A3 or Hubsan Zino.
New to drone, plan to have stable video shots when going overseas

this is what i think,

between Fimi A3 and Hubsan H117S: Hubsan H117S should be better. A3 is bulky/non-foldable, A3 looks like having jello on some youtube videos, A3's fpv video feed to remote control might be as in analogue.

Drone for tour purpose: a drone with optical positioning like DJI Spark might be more useful for tour. Spark could start hovering in the air within 30-45 seconds, without the need to wait for few minutes of GPS position info. You could palm launch a Spark into the air, take a few selfies, down it within 3 minutes. The smaller size Spark with solid propeller guards also making it less scary/safer.

Spark is more stable than H117S/A3 at <5m altitude, or near to buildings.

Thanks for the recommendation, but many place selling 1k plus for Spark fly more combo, more than air ticket for my holidays! ... assuming they have stock?!
