The marvic air uses batteries fast.. and also uses up the internal storage fast during video recording.

I am not sure.... Usually I set my batt limit to 15% if I don't fly more than 200m. The internal storage is definitely not enough if u film in 4K. I used to film in lower resolution (I do a bit of my own wildlife filming for personal interest) but realized that 4K is crucial if u need to see the animals (or the bird or fish appears unclear or blurr). Already invested in a 64GB sd. To improve video clarity and see things clearer in the water, I had no choice but to invest in those set of 4 of pgytech ND-PL filters.... It works! Colours are indeed more vivid.... But costs around $60

Microsd need a SanDisk extreme minimum?, Cos I have a 128 ultra and it says not fast enough.

Me not expert on the microsd types... I did check online which are recommended....

Currrently me using SanDisk Extreme PRO microSDHC/XC A1 UHS-I Card. Works perfectly fine. 64gb good enough even for 4k video, but it will eat up space on your drive fast, unless u have those TB drive to save onto (I save my videos on another 128gb SD card on my Sony tablet).

Mine if shoot at 2.7k still ok. Anyway I tried watch 2.7k and 4k on a 65" 4k TV. Barely can see the difference.

I realised that I can never take off at those red one. But no problem flying around outside those red zone.

going to western australia mid august, been entertaining the idea of buying a drone to fly and get some photos/videos on holiday.

biggest question is, on average, how much time does a complete noob take to become competent enough to fly in a location with strong wind?

another question is, as i read up on rules/regulations of drone flying in aus, i started to think is there any trouble bringing a drone overseas (to australia)?
definitely not checking in (back-packing) but any things to note regarding batteries or anything?

on to drones itself, saw on carousell a few models,
1) hexo+, can follow a vehicle up to around 75kph, seems a little too big to back-pack with it, but its like a kick-starter project and i'm sure there's no support locally.
2) xiro xplorer V, looks cool and seems easier to travel with, gimbal and camera seems good enough, not really good at following and also not gonna get any local support i think.
3) mjx bugs 5w, read lotsa good things about this, can buy new(cheapest here), can probably buy new spare batteries, don't think there's any local support also, has one axis stabilisation only but resulting photographs are ok, not fantastic at following also.

any feedback on those models?

i just saw some videos of dji spark following a car and its pretty good as well, a spark will definitely cost more and have local support, but i'm not sure i'm willing to spend ~$700 on something i might suck at and crash, or even store away after the trip

funny thing is, i work at a place selling drones, but can only get the spark here. boss clearing dji phantom 4 pros now, ask me get one at $1699, out of my reach

Those r no fly zone (nfz) built-into the app. But the actual zones by caas r much larger. So doesn't mean the app allows u to fly, it means legal. Do Google the map by caas.

U need less than 5 mins to learn with a good drone with gps function. U buy a lousy drone u take much longer to learn how not to crash. Really no joke. A cheap drone is dangerous.

almost same situation as me here, except that I'm going to the states. after reading up reviews and watching videos on YouTube of cheap drones, I decided to put off on getting a cheap drone for now. borrowed my cousin's spark set (first time ever flying a drone) and will be bringing it for the trip.

Anyone here tried flying on national day rehearsal night to capture the fireworks using Mavic pro?

No way to fly near Marina but roughly where will be the nearest best spot?

U need less than 5 mins to learn with a good drone with gps function. U buy a lousy drone u take much longer to learn how not to crash. Really no joke. A cheap drone is dangerous.

Why your work place can get drone but u did not get it there?

5 mins is pretty fast, i'm sure i'll take longer even with a spark. i initially looked at the mjx bugs 3, its like fully manual, definitely not noob friendly. at this point i'm telling myself a crash is inevitable, hence leaning towards sth cheaper first to avoid heart pain.

We only have DJI drones or a unknown drone brand, so my only real options are spark and tello, but i dont think tello can handle australian wind?

haha, sounds great! i see those drone rental listings on carousell but dont think i'll go down that route. i was exclusively considering non DJI/Parrot due to cost but after seeing youtube on how they track my eyes open wide wide

i dont think my boss will give me much discount on spark, cos we dont stock up on sparks anymore, just like the p4p, but difference is spark still selling albeit slowly, but p4p almost stop.

but i estimate i can get a spark fly more around low-mid $600 here

Hi guys, would like to check, for dji, what is the difference for the region?

take mavic air for example, i've seen na, eu and uk sets before, i also think there is cn sets.

what i heard is the wall socket plug is different/native to region, and the operating frequency (EIRP). anything else?

Hey Guys, nice to see Drone buddies helping each other. I'm looking forward for Mavic Pro 2 as my first drone purchase. I know it's gonna be a hit in the pocket but as mentioned earlier more pricier implies less expertise to fly efficiently.
