What's happening at Samsung Singapore? We are among the last countries in the region (or even the world) to receive Pie.

I wish Samsung would at least say something instead of keeping quiet and deleting the notice from Samsung Members app.

dont complain. some users here do not like to hear complains about samsung singapore. in fact they told you to appreciate samsung and insist that samsung dont owe you anything.

Precisely why this is my last Note. Samsung's ecosystem is fragmented and software updates are extremely untimely and poorly coordinated. I've used Apple for years and till today, they are still providing updates for iPhone 6, which was released in 2014. What's more, as there is poor software and hardware integration, performance of Samsung's flagship phones are often trailing behind the likes of Apple and Google.

Case in point: https://bgr.com/2018/08/10/galaxy-note-9-vs-iphone-x-comparison-benchmarks-oops/

How many Notes have you used before?

Anyway even without Pie, the Note 8 works flawlessly mah... so no hurry... my wife's S8+ from Cambodia also not yet undated mah... I think they're just concentrating on the 9 series first... cos that's newest before moving down to the 8 series and probably by year end, the 7 series will get Pie too...

While your point about software updates is valid, performance benchmarks don't mean much. On day to day usage, does the Note 8 lag? No.

It's been more than a year and my Note 8 is still pretty smooth. Sure, it's not as buttery smooth as the iPhone, but the difference is so minute that most users don't really notice it unless you compare them side by side.

Samsung has a lot to improve upon, but I wouldn't switch back to the iPhone because Apple offers so little while asking for so much.

it makes a lot of different. with one UI, the note 8 is like a brand new phone. I was using XS as my main phone and now my spare N8 is my main phone. The XS is lying on the table now. haha...

Samsung UI is not known for being the smoothest UI in Android. Not sure about One UI as I've not get a chance to play with it yet but if you can try Pixel 2 or 3, OnePlus 6 or even Huawei mate 20 if you want buttery smooth UI.

Ok guys. I’m also a long-time user of iPhone (and still is) and currently using XS Max (main phone). I also bought a Note9 last August (spare/work phone) and recently upgraded to One UI.

Now using both phones alongside each other, the Note9 does feel like a new phone with Pie and is quite a big improvement over Oreo 8.1 in terms of user interface and slightly speedier. Comparing both iOS and Android, both have their strengths/weaknesses and I love using both platforms.

But if you’re comparing to software updates and speed/fluidity and batt life, there’s no fight to iOS. It just feels faster on the XS Max compared to Note9. Since both are of different platforms, I’m just enjoying them both equally.

Yes, One UI is very different from all previous Samsung UI. It looks much cleaner, neater and modern. It's also more smooth and user friendly. Samsung SG should really do something about the SW update as most of the countries have received Pie updates weeks ago.

totally agree. One UI is the best interface from Samsung so far. Coupled with Samung's Good Lock app from the galaxy store, the interface is very enjoyable to use.

I also use both android and ios. Totally agree with you. I am using also ios public beta fw, which is released very very frequently. :s13:
