The motherboard which you got might be starhub version of Note8. You might want to flash the normal firmware over your phone. Last time, I used to try flashing other firmware onto Samsung phones.

There are 4 different Singapore firmware for Note 8, M1, Singtel, Starhub and Open XSP. Using ODIN application to transfer the firmware over to your phone. You can download the XSP firmware from sammobile, there is instructions there on how to flash new firmware over it.

Take note, if you flash, all your settings and information inside will be gone. Be sure to back up all data.
this is not flashing

It is not flickering, just that sometimes the color is off with a whitish effect on it, after few hours the color back to normal, is it something to do with the blue light? :s11:

Thats why i don't use samsung as my main phone anymore, dedicate use as a hotspot for tpg sim card

Phone just got heart attack this morning, suddenly shut down while listening to spotify and cannot turn on.

Luckily after several revival attempts to force turn on, it turned on. Guess the phone is getting older, need to find a new phone soon.

Ya. Old phone already. Maybe overused. Its handling of multi task is not as smooth as it used to be. Sometimes will hang.

Warning. Might affect your device.
If you see samsung's device care app in galaxy store available for update, dont do it. That update mess up my processor speed. The quad moongoose core permanently stuck on 1170 clock speed. Made my phone lag like hell. No choice have to spend hours factory format and reinstall all apps in my phone. Force downgrade using play store's older version will not solve it.
Regarding the new firmware update with oct security patch, did it and its working fine.

The post above is from 7 nov. That update totally messed up my phone. Even after update to latest firmware, its still the same.

But the update today with dec security patch solve the problem. Could run all previous app in the background. The only lag i could see so far is the 1 sec lag when selecting options in samsung internet. Might be the phone really old.

did you update the samsung internet app from the Play Store?

Do clean the cache too, it might caused the slowing down.

Go to Settings > Apps >Samsung Internet > Storage > Clear Cache

Go to Settings > Apps >Samsung Internet > Storage > Clear Cache

All done. Clear data. And resync. Wipe cache data in recovery mode as well.

At least now iam able to use back the data speed meter app. The one that shows the current upload/download speed. Before dec update cant use at all. So just accept that 1 sec lag. :s13:

I didn't have the same problem... but I hardly use the Samsung web browser... the Dec update has been good... so far no issues with the phone... my phone so far still good... battery life is still very good... I intend to use it until it stops working... ha ha ha... I can't remember if I bought the phone in 2017 or 2018 but it's still good... hope to use the phone for 4-5 years...

Well. Thats the problem with updates. Sometimes will mess up the phone. And i do use the phone alot. So this might add on to it dying faster.

If the water-proofing isn't important to you, then replace the screen outside of Samsung, it will be cheaper... I usually use iRepair. They're good and reliable.
