been trying to get a decent priced GFX, but pricing is still not ideal yet. Will be waiting for the pricing to stabilize after all the demand. :o

Prices have cooled down quite a bit. They are close to the launch RRP. Only AMD ones remain pricey.

I am surprised at the prices now though. Last I went sls to walk I saw now gpu got stock alr.

But used prices still high. Many still trying to sell above rrp. But I see some people selling the 1070 at a more reasonable price now. Think that card was never that profitable for miners.

Wait until the bitcoin bubbles all burst or all countries authorities take firm laws against it.

I think need 1-2 years to stabilize , good thing I bought 1060 early too.

I think when next Gen gpu release, the craze will briefly come back again
I suspect next Gen will have short supply at the beginning. Even worse than usual.

How crypto craze going to burst if total market value is abt USD$400 billion and growing.

Investors who just buy these coin just think abt profits but for many miners they believe in the blockchain technology itself.

It's something like SETI@home or Folding@home but they get rewarded.

No miners to do the mining, for proof of stake, no crypto currency.

So we will continue to see GPU OOS from time to time.

One of the reason is Ethereum changing from proof of work to proof of stake . It is incoming so we'll see more and more happening

It's because of these crypto mining that causes people who need GPUs for work purposes to fork out unnecessarily high amt of cash....

That is true. But this may change over time. The problem is that there is no better alternative than GPU for mining now. For example, ethereum ASIC is not available yet. When it is available, I would expect some of these demands to go there. It is not 100% for sure, but will certainly alleviate the current GPU crunch condition.

Miners buy GPUs meant for gaming. For work, there is another line of gpus miners won't buy.
For normal office apps, integrated gpu is sufficient.
Pros doing video editing for a living buy pro gpu instead of gaming gpu for work unless they want to save on hardware.

So what work are u mentioning that require a gaming gpu for work purposes.

Even Pro GPUs will cost more when the retail versions are expensive. Price surge is due to shortage, which will hit across the board.
