S'pore: "Its your responsibility to put out the fire"

Indo: "Not all our fault, your companies start the fire"

S'pore: "Give us the company name"

Indo: "But we can't just blame them for this since we still need to investigate this."

The companies start the Fire every year and they are still investigating after more than a decade.

If his house kanna burnt by someone every year, you see if he will take so long to investigate. :s13:

I happen to think Indo minister is right.
The D. Fever thing is another classic example. It happen around same time every year !! Don't think we can blame Indo for this right?

:s13::s13::s13:What we need is for the wind direction to change and blow the haze towards Jakarta, which remains haze-free every year during the land-clearing season because of the wind direction during this time of the year.
The politicians in Jakarta don't give a damn because they and their families are breathing good air despite the haze in their agricultural backyard. So of course they don't get why S'poreans are making such a big deal and behaving like a child.

Better still, if the wind direction can change and blow the haze to China. Let's see the Indonesian ministers tell the Chinese to stop acting like a child when they complain.:D:D:D

The recent Haze crisis is another classic example of the difference between a controlled and free press.

1. Controlled Press (ST): decides for you what is right for you.

Wed 19 th June: Reports on increase in sales of masks, purifiers etc.

Thu 20 th June: No reports on masks, no reports on shortages of masks.

Fri 20 th June: No shortage of face masks reported; ST reports that more masks has been supplied to pharmacies late Thu evening etc; MOH: we have 9 million masks and its enough.

2. Free Press (Yahoo News): lets you decide for yourself what is right.

Thu 20 th June: Some outlets of Guardian Pharmacy reported a shortage of supplies of face masks Wednesday... masks sold out and they were waiting for more stocks to arrive on late Thursday.

Demand for face masks, air purifiers grows as haze worsens in Singapore

Comment:

A shortage of up to 2 days for masks during a health emergency goes unreported by the mainstream media.

That's what you get in a 'not free' press: you get to "read the right thing".

Do you prefer a free or not free press?

That is right. China cannot even fix their own problem. So they would not complain in the first place.

Nobody blame Indo for Dengue so don't mix the 2 matters together even though both happen every year. You don't call everyone "father" because they are of the same age as your father right?

Funny that the Indonesians never stage a protest against their Govt for the Haze.

This is because, the burning is actually beneficial to them in terms of agricultural aspects. People there might lose jobs if this is not done to reduce operational costs...

What shortage? I got my masks yesterday morning and posted on HWZ where you can get some more.

So does today's 21st June ST's print news count if
ST actually reported they are doing something about
the 'existence' of mask shortages across many pharmacies?

OR as long as you, yourself can get your piece, there's no shortage.

Is that how reality works for you?

"A shortage didn't occur for me; hence, shortages didn't exist
at all or didn't exist for the rest. What shortage?",says IronMac

I asked my girlfriend to get some face-masks for me and my parents later. :D

Normal ones. Better than nothing. N95 - I can't use. The breathing part will be constricted so I can't use that.

I won't be surprised that land-clearing is timed with specific seasonal cycles to mitigate the 'damage' done to locals (and also to sowing seasons etc).
