Since there's a significant interest in metal in this forum, let us share good metal music. What are your favourite bands? My favourite bands are Opeth, Symphony X and Death. After hearing their music I can't help but feel that all the other music out there are weak in comparison. Opeth is simply the most consistently good band ever; you can see how highly rated they are in Rateyourmusic and AMG. Symphony X has the best vocalist, best guitarist, best keyboard player, best bassist and best drummer ever, and The Odyssey is the best song ever. Death has the best guitar riffs ever, although they are a bit on the too progressive side so I guess many people will not like them. I recommend anyone with interest in Heavy Metal to check out these bands.

my favr bands are.. Opeth, 3 inches of blood, Nightwish, Iron maiden, King Diamond..and some other..only these are on the top of my list.. especially Opeth..awesome band with awesome songs..

cant help but to share my fav songs from opeth..(not in any order whatsoever)
-Burden
-Harlequin forest
-Black rose immortal
-To bid you farewell
-Bleak
-face of melinda
-Windowpane
-Advent
-The night and the silent water
-harvest
-When
-In my time of need

well the list goes on..but i think i'll stop there lol

Arch Enemy - Doomsday Machine
Arch Enemy - Rise Of The Tyrant with DVD
Children Of Bodom - Are You Dead Yet?
Dark Tranquillity - Projector
Dark Tranquillity - Haven
Draconian - Turning Season Within
Dream Theater - Octavarium (Looks like Jap disc cos got obi strip)
Gamma Ray - Majestic
Iced Earth - Tribute To The Gods
Stratovarius - Stratovarius

All $7.95 each except Arch Enemy's Rise Of The Tyrant with DVD at $9.95. Vey cheap! Never bought metal CDs at these prices before. :D

Still got a lot more like Megadeth, Soilwork, Biohazard, Edenbridge, Korpiklaani and Exodus etc and the rest i have not heard before bands. If interested, its displayed at their headphones section. Ignore the rest but if u look thru, can find Mudvayne and Slayer's latest album for $9.95 only.

No la, these metal discs are not diff to find as they are not in the boxes. They are displayed artwork side on their headphone section, so very easy to see and choose. I only go skim thru 1-2 boxes and saw Mudvayne and Slayer. I also dun have the patience to go thru the rest of the boxes. Saw 1 uncle lugging 2 big plastic bags full of discs, he must have rummage thru most of the boxes. :o lol We're given big transparent plastic bags to shop. :s13:

Dun think these discs are Gramo's. Based on my limited buying experience, Gramo dun stock obscure metal bands like Soilwork, Biohazard, Edenbridge, Korpiklaani and others that I din heard before. Think they are contracted (as they're in town) to sell on behalf of some shop or warehouse in eastside as the bag given to me was not Gramo's bag. Another shop's name/bag that is located in Parkway/Katong.

So, I dun think they are closing down. Anyway, the Cathay branch is 1 of their newest store and is the largest.
