Hi, new here. Very hard to find metal fans in SG I find.
Can anyone rec me any stuff?
I listen to almost everything but prefer folk and symphonic metal.
Bands I like: apocalyptica, ayreon, blind guardian, children of bodom, cruachan, dark tranquillity, elvenking, eluveitie, epica, iced earth, lacuna coil, luca turilli, opeth, nile, rhapsody, sentenced, sonata arctica, stratovarius, theatre of tragedy, theatres des vampires, therion, tristania, ulver.

Yeah, try Finntroll as recommended above. Korpiklaani also quite good. But i find this type of folk music a bit funny. Maybe cos i'm no folk guy.

Yeah, I have listened to both Finntroll and Korpiklaani before. Don't really like Finntroll so much. I go for more melodic than death metal style growls.. also female fronted metal, exception being Angra, female fronted and growls.

Oh yes! They are both lovely and I have listened to them both before. Not exactly on my must-listen-to-favourites list though.

Ahaha, sorry if this is getting repetitive. Yep, listened to that before, but not one of my diehard favourites.
Basically if it's been listed on spirit-of-metal dot com (well that sucks, how many posts do I need before I can include urls?) then I have probably 'liberally sampled' an album. I prefer folk, viking and symphonic because to me these are very myth/ fantasy themed, and being an artist I really like to draw inspiration from these genres.

Anyone know of any band that have similar sounds to Eluveite?
Eluveite is one of my kill-for bands, definitely.
