dunno why e erhu solo just gives me e chills .
neither loved it nor hated it at e same time .

kinda awkward feel to it as well . :/

well each band wanna have their own style or by doin' smthn' exclusive to be one of a kind .
diff from e rest .
no harm done anw ..

.. but tbh when Apocalyptica played Metallica tunes with their own version [cellos/dbl bass] it so cringes e hell out of me .

It sounds creepy right? Think the band wanna make it sound like a woman wailing... and 1 of their albums is about a lady who has already died, but came back to save her only son and got banished to hell eternally. It's a famous folklore in Taiwan. It's a concept ablum and is sung totally in Hokkien...

The Erhu is what i like about them.

Yup... about the Taiwan aborigines that was recruited to fight for the Japanese in SEA during WW2. A new Taiwan show about them is coming soon.

That's what made them special, especially in Westerners' eyes, since most of them have never seen an erhu before...
