I don't know about Pioneer, but Alpine's iPhone connection is really a USB extension cable + an iPhone-to-USB cable. I'm guessing Pioneer's works in the same way - don't think you need a separate iPhone/iPod module like the older generation Pioneers, let me know if I'm mistaken. But if so, that cable isn't worth that much.
I'm currently using a pre-iPhone-compatible Pioneer though.
But if I was spending that much on a player I'd be looking at Alpine instead.

reason becos i want to playback video ....
even with converter from 30 pin to lighting u can't playback video on my previous 2450...becos
all those model uses analog signal while lighting using digital signal...
even when using my previous model when i use 4s vs 5 ...i notice there is a slight diff with sound quality...
my wife tot i spend $ upgrade on speakers ....
if im not wrong alpine face similar issue with lighting...
