I love my Magentis too! Was rather sad to let it go as it had performed superbly during these past 4 years.

But I think my fate and luck with it is not good, so got a number of accidents and always tio aim by birds and cats.

Any reason in particular you chose this model over the 3450 or 4450?

Not to pour cold water, it's an individual thing ... personally I don't find any additional features on the 8450 justifying the price premium.

but they throw in the iphone 5 cable ....if i am not wrong the cable cost $120~200 depend where u buy...

that means my set is just 1k...

they don't allow trade in for other model that include 2 or 4series...
don't think got 3...
only this...

even i buy the 2 series outside cheapest i think $500...plus the stupid iphone cable $150....

they shops sell me 'bao 'everything in it...

Paid $750 for it after trading in my AVH-2450BT

I have the same thing inside my car. Got it last year for around 980.

I don't know about Pioneer, but Alpine's iPhone connection is really a USB extension cable + an iPhone-to-USB cable. I'm guessing Pioneer's works in the same way - don't think you need a separate iPhone/iPod module like the older generation Pioneers, let me know if I'm mistaken. But if so, that cable isn't worth that much.

I'm currently using a pre-iPhone-compatible Pioneer though.

But if I was spending that much on a player I'd be looking at Alpine instead.

I don't know about Pioneer, but Alpine's iPhone connection is really a USB extension cable + an iPhone-to-USB cable. I'm guessing Pioneer's works in the same way - don't think you need a separate iPhone/iPod module like the older generation Pioneers, let me know if I'm mistaken. i upgrade to this model becos of iphone 5 lighting cable

reason becos i want to playback video ....
even with converter from 30 pin to lighting u can't playback video on my previous 2450...becos
all those model uses analog signal while lighting using digital signal...

even when using my previous model when i use 4s vs 5 ...i notice there is a slight diff with sound quality...

my wife tot i spend $ upgrade on speakers ....

if im not wrong alpine face similar issue with lighting...
