“My boss is also chill. Work hours are 9 to 5, Monday to Friday, including a 1-hour lunch break, so it’s a 7-hour workday. Leaving 5 to 10 minutes early or arriving 5 to 10 minutes late is fine with the boss. Overtime is rarely needed, and while there is no OT pay, this boss allows time-off claims.”

Hmmm, I think this is quite common for people who are earning 5- 6k per month and have little desire to climb the corporate ladder too. Meaning he is enjoying what others are enjoying, but at half their income.
Most 5-6k/mth job I see is work till 6pm then bring laptop home continue

If 5-6k got such environment like you mentioned, nobody will leave, everybody 20 years long service award

They are, and they are not uncommon. It depends on whether you want to climb the corporate ladder; you can always do the minimum and be content with average grading.

Not everyone will stay 20 years in such a role. You will be surprised to learn that people do leave because it lacks progression and may not align with their goals. Many people, no matter how nua, still wanted to be appreciated and valued and feel useful.

Thats true but there many jobs that are lepak as well. Earn close to 10k, come in late, go back earlier. Teabreak coffeebreak, long lunch. Moral of the story is to find the right job.
