If you have friends visiting bangkok, or yourself, maybe can get a set from Chatuchak Market.

There is a huge variety there, from really cheap to something close to what you quoted.

Most I see use a type of veg tan that feels plasticky, stitching all over the place, edges are not burnished but painted with a clear laquer.

But what the heck, they are cheap indeed.

hi leather products lovers, recently me fell in love with leather goods too.
got a leather belt and a dessert boots from clarks.

can anyone recommend me leather protection oil or cream? im not looking for those can tat darken the original colors bt to protect the leather quality and make them last longer, etc no cracks or dry up.
do provide name of the product and places where i can get too.

Genuine leather.

Like I said, leather feels plasticky to my hands. Very poor quality veg tan.

For black colour stuff, they dun use veg tan. They use upholstery type of leather, i.e. those use for making sofas or car seats.

Workmanship is terrible.

I'm sure there are very good artisans in Thailand, but I didn't see any good products in Chatuchak.

Frankly was quite disappointed as I was looking forward to seeing some good stuff.

No, sorry. I myself was pretty hyped up to go there and look at what they are doing over there.

But in the end returned very disappointed.

Saw a little bit here and there in shopping centres, but nothing much.

for that price of under 200, can try ebay for good deals. prolly vintage ones? other than that, retail-wise it would be thailand for those leather products, they are cheapest so far? u can always try getting them from China, since they are prolly having the one of the biggest manufacturing market (almost anything can be found there/sourced there).

Can anyone tell me where I can get a belt shortened? - I would usually do it myself, but its the "old bull" belt from Saddleback Leather Co. and 1. I dont think I have the right tools to cut the leather and 2. wouldnt know how to re-apply the screws...

the obenauf LP will not darken the leather. in the case of veg-tan leather, it might appear to have darken upon application. but the true color, or the original color, will be back once its fully absorbed.

even if there is any darkening, i would say its about 1% increase in contrast.

furthermore, veg-tan leather will darken over time if used. due to our sweat, natural oil in our hands when we touched it etc.

any of you leather experts here can fix my leather bag? the shoulder strap's connection broke as per pictures.
