Hi,

May I know is there any place in singapore that sell leathercraft tools?

Like the awl, spacer, saddlemaker groover.

How about leather and waxed thread?

Wanna get the correct tools for my leathercraft hobby, I believe having the right tools will definitely improve the workmanship of my leathercraft. of cos all this need a lot of practice practice and practice.

Below is a watch strap which i have made.

keke not easy to make nice and straight stitching.....

TIA.

I read the discussion over at the denim thread, agreed, off topic LOL.
Put so much effort start the denim thread, then become leather, no good for the thread starter leh :)

Bumping this thread!
Let's talk leather....

I recall someone asking about oiling the leather.
Well, it depends on the leather you have ar.
Vegetable Tan leather - these are all natural leather, undyed at tanneries. Processed by using vegetable-based tannins. Because of its firm properties, it is most suitable for carving designs.
It is the most popular leather used now for the denimheads, due to its aging ability. When new, it is creamy in colour, after some usage and suntanning, it will turn golden brown. See pics, my short wallet.

comparing with a new one made, notice the great colour difference and petina forming.

For normal soft cowhide leather that we use, you dont need to oil it if you keep using it daily. The natural oil from your hands is suffice for the wallet. However, if you are going to leave it there for a long time not using. Oiling is require to maintain it so that it doesn't dry up.

The craftmen from Obbi Good Label always held our 'illegal gathering' at 310 Woodland every Wed and Sat. We will be there mostly for talking cock, design exchanging, or even making some craft there.

which veg tan wallet would you recommend for office use + denim aging? also with option to attach a rein if required? it's not practical to get a midlength wallet that only works well with denim, but will look incredibly out of place when worn with black office pants...

Very true :)
Even for some of our craftmen, we are also working class. We have Bi-folds which is suitable for your office wear.

Here are some examples of our bi-fold wallet.

Above are some designs we have at the moment, mostly made of cowhide leather. Of cos, we can custom to use Veg Tan leather for the design :)

most of the time, no extra charges :)
unless there is a conflict between design and leather used, extra steps or process require to make it works, then extra cost will be needed.

Yes, we can include a rein hook for rein attachment.
