this is what being use to make obbi good label SLG (small leather goods)
with mixture of hand sewing, to achieve perfection and durability....
machine is old, but still going strong, don't ask me how old they are, heard it's been hand down 3 generation in leather boots making.....

i think machines were made with true good quality back then as compared to now. The stuff these days may be high on technoligy, but never really seem tough sturdy....

when i collect this machine, it was physically soak with rust... compare with the new machine this is totally solid, every single parts is metal and irons.

I read somewhere, sewing machine mechanism actually last a life time, as long as maintainance is done and oiling is done.

From my master, he told me this machine has made a fortune with all the previous artisan.....

oh yes, owner is my guru, he teaches me everything.

BTW to all the leather fans out there, (if you are around) are you all interested in picking up leather crafting as hobby?whether as a skill or knowledge.

We are (310 Woodland) planning to organize leather crafting school/lesson for beginner, intermediate and apprenticeship.

Leather Workshop

Beginner 3 month course (basic tools included) = learn how to cut, stitch, paste and make small leather goods. (Fees Est: 700)
Intermediate 6 month course = learn how to make a series of fashionable accessories, bags, leather curving etc (Fees Est 1200)
Apprenticeship (learn to design, make and sell) join the team to produce quality products selling in major department stalls and operate a shop (after complete of classes and base on shortlisting by skill learn to create a brand of your own)

Any interested party do drop email to obbi@softroom-solutions.com

We will need 10 Student to start the school and another 10 to roll out the programs.

can this be bought at 310?? my friend want a simple bifold wallet in this colour :)

that wallet has been sold to me...i did a review of it a few pages back. but you could probs order and get another one crafted by scasi, but you can't pick it up at 310. I'm pretty sure scasi would be kind enough to meet up your friend at a convenient location to do the COD. I've had the wallet for close to 3 weeks now and he's still providing me with excellent aftersales service.

Ambivalence, as spellsinger said, name the location.

Kazuki666, having a workshop running a class is our long term plan, in fact in our pipeline, we have an entire 5 year plans in making leathercrafting culture into singapore as a mainstream activity.... but it will takes a lot of effort when most of the locals are loom with upscale branding and hectic schedule....

From looking for a workshop (somewhere near town) to organising leather camp, i too is from the white collar sector and seek some stress release activity other then boozing nightly or partying silly..... doing leather is actually a passion, and requires quite a lot of investment.

There're ample of tools and materials you will need to buy, that why the message i send is to find out how many of them are ready to pick up this skill as hobby.

If I'm not wrong, we hope to start the workshop by end of the year... and we need at least 50 register to start with.....

Hi scasi, thanks for the info.

I myself a working adult (dun dare say white collar sia, coz of the low salary...), i totally understand the time constraint and commitment.
We never know when our boss will get us to clear some work thus late OTs... :(

What u guys are doing should be considered a form of art as well, and whatsmore in a society like ours who is that small population and influenced by overseas trend...

But having said that, i be curious of coz. How much "capital" will we be looking at if we need to get set of proper tools and of coz the class fees.

and oh ya, i may be looking at getting your help to come up with a wallet later. Need to clear some stuff to generate some funds 1st... :p
