hi experts, need some experienced advice here

my makr flap wallet is start to develop micro surface cracks at flex point, think it needs some moisturising? stated to be made of natural bison and tends to soak up sweat everytime its in my pocket for long

in the market there is cleaner/conditioner/saddle soap+++ quite confusing

and i read that mink oil will rot natural stitching so got any other recommendations?

thanks alot in advance!

those micro cracks are part of the effect called leather patina, it normally forms after some wear, it could also because of the original tan of the leather, after times leaving some cracks form line. Mink oil will do some help.
Cleaners are normally for hides that is light in color. You can use a clean brush and some water for darker color leather.

Your rubber sole cannot absorb oil. Use water.

When crack happen, mink oil will not help, it will only soften the crack part and prevent it from further tear. next time mink after 3 to 4 month use. Some time the crack is not the leather, but the edge dye that they use to touch up the corner of the wallet.

I think the indigo stain will give your veg tan belt character, don;t clean it, you will regret.

please allow my honest comments:

the leather look GREAT! workmanship is top quality as well! love the look on the outside.

but for the interior, it looks rather boring and normal. maybe the design for the slots can be tweaked to make it a more wonderful wallet. the interior slots design is more important in my view. thats why i prefer the LV Multiple wallet over the rest.

just my 2.5 cents. hope you dont mind...

scasi that is a very nice classic gentleman old english style wallet. from the choice of the leather used, to the finish of it, to the style and interior of the wallet, i think you pretty much nailed how the "classic gentleman wallet" should look like. the concept of the interior design of it, hits the nail on the head. i can pretty much imagine someone from the eary 20's to 30's using something like this. fantastic piece. my favourite of all your creations so far.
