Leather Belt Stain Removal

A line of blackish suddenly appeared overnight on my swedish army leather belt, not really solid black.
More like gradient from middle.

How and what do i remove it with?

Would upload picture when I get home.

oiled it twice. cos this belt had been deadstock for so many years. i think some TLC will be helpful and it really did suck up the oil like a thirsty camel..
