If I get a good leather belt overseas that is oversized, is it recommended to punch holes using a standard belt hole puncher I find at emporiums?

Or should I go to a specialised cobbler? Or does the newly punched holes need to be treated with something to prevent damage?

Posting this here as it's a pretty niche item, so no point putting into the usual marketplace.

Tandy diamond pricking irons for sale. Brand new, except the 4 prong was used maybe 3 times. Selling because I prefer using an awl now. These make a pattern about 5 SPI, although the single can obviously be used to make any layout you want.

I purchased these from ebay for S$50 all in with shipping.

Now selling for S$35.

*WTS Corter Leather Ring & Hook Bracelet

Hi, I bought a ring & hook bracelet from Corter Leather 2 weeks ago [medium size, natural color]. Unfortunately my wrist is too small for the bracelet.

If there's anybody interested, I'd be happy to offload it at SGD30. I paid around SGD55 for this bracelet (USD34.50 + shipping)

Note, I've only worn this once to try it on, so i will consider it brand new..

Please PM me if you are keen.. Thank you!

Here's the link to the bracelet..

Just wanted to get an idea of how fast shipping is from Corter leather. I used the standard USPS 1st class international option and it shipped out on 4th Aug but I still haven't received it.

Any chance that it might be lost?

Selling Horween hide

Hi guys,

I have some Horween Leather to sell if anyone is interested.
Attached are some pictures of the hide. *Note the bottom two pictures are for size reference, colour is much closer to the first and second pictures, taken under better lighting conditions.

From what i have gathered, this leather is a variance of chromexcel. It is more matte, less stretchy, less pullup (less oily, hence cement-able) and slightly softer than typical chromexcel.
The full hide is 22.9 sq ft (side) Weight: 5oz, 2mm thick
As i do not have means of establishing an accurate sq ft size, i will only be selling half of the hide, split down the centre as demarcated by the red line(picture is an approximate), allowing me to better gauge the size and price.
I will be selling this at $80, what you'll get is roughly 11-12 sq ft averaging a price of $7psf.
I will consider trades as well. Some natural veg tan, or something similiar in stiffness

If anyone is interested, you can contact me at 9271 85 seven-five.
Cheers!

There should be a tracking number included with the confirmation email, you can use that to check the status.

Anyway, i had an order shipped out on the 7th of Aug and i received the package last week.

based on the tracking number, if you see that it has already reached Jamaica, NY, then it would have left US. Yours was shipped out one day later than mine I think. I got my package last Friday.

You could always practice with tooling leather first, or anything cheap you can find.
Shell Cordovan is a very nice, albeit very expensive leather, typically not used until you are fairly proficient. If you want a quick price comparison, one shell averages a size of 1-2sq ft, and costs anywhere from $60-$250. As you can see, the cost is greater than 10x of a normal cow or horsehide.

As for the tools required, simple pricking irons, a good blade/knife and some proper thread is about it actually. These are truly the basics but if you want a more professional looking result there are a myriad of tools that can help you.

Thanks for the replies. Based on the USPS tracking code, it actually reached Jamaica on 4th Aug and it sounds like it should have already reached me. Fingers crossed it's not lost.

IIRC, you can try contacting Tuckshop Sundry and Supplies' Atelier Lodge. They do offer lesson and sell basic leather crafting tools.

Personally, I find it better for seniors or seasoned craftsman to guide an amateur along as a something like this requires loads of practice as there are many tips and tricks not really covered in depth from online tutorials.
