for me is wife.... she is the most dangerous enemy to lego. I only newbies, and she keeps nagging non-stop say i am a good-for-nothing old man and play children toys, and threaten to give away them to neighbours.

I can sympathetise other lego collectors when they have lots of NEW SET mint box, and still buy new ones...

show her it's not just a toy but a healthy investment too. :)

I have not known of The Lego Group to be anti-social or harm the community. It even ended its decades old promotional deal with Shell recently. :D

Now which company will do that? Not even Sinkie's Temasek Holdings can claim to be holy as it had invested in weapons factories, Playboy and Cigarette making companies before.

Ask her to help u build ur lego sets. Buy some lego sets that she will like and build together.

Waiting patiently for FR at Suntec LCS from Recce :s47:

Me today family day, bring kids to Sentosa, went SEA Seaworld, ride the Tiger Tower and first time play the Ludge ride, very fun :)

Of course, I did drop by at RWS LCS store in the morning, hooted a big cup PAB,no sight of Ferris Wheel. Then drop by again while we're leaving just now, also nothing.

hi everyone
its been a while since i logged in , and i have not been buying lego recently as well , due to a busy schedule and also lack of storage space at home.

anyway i did a quick check on resale prices on ebay.sg , and found that most of the sets that i had bought in the past year had risen in price. what surprised me pleasantly and unexpectedly is the price of 10228 haunted mansion which is asking for around $700. that is a cool 200% increase in price ( the rpp was US179.95) !! this beats any shares that i have bought in the past few years on the stock exchange.

of course one could always argue that lego stock is not so liquidable , and selling is not so easy as the click of a mouse. nonetheless to me , the paper profit is tidy and neat . other sets that have done rather well are the town hall and millenium falcon 7965 . i can understand perfectly now why some sets are always sold out and difficult to get , and will this lego bubble one day burst ?

I guess it's willing buyer willing seller situation, esp to sets worth collecting

Is it true that all monoshops & specialty shop sell the same price, and the membership is all the same 10% discount (if so, which one has lowest requirement for membership)?

What do you people do with the complete set??? I already foresee that i have inadequate place for display....
