:s13: me too, i sort of  when i heard/read some managed to get 1-1 exchange instead of repair... so far only manage to get to repair only...
Regardless, easier to get cheaper repairs with warranty compared to an export set. But hey, I'm using an export set, so more power to the misers! :D

i have both nexus 4 and 7. performance wise nexus 4 wins hand down. maybe cos nexus 7 has only 1gb ram.
the reason of why nexus 7 lags behind nexus 4 in performance has a few reasons:

1) The Tegra 3's memory controller is super slow (in fact, the one thing that's causing all those performance hiccups in newer games is due to this)

2) The Nexus 7's storage is using a way slower NAND flash...this is the reason why when you are installing something from play stores..performance seems to take a hit for a couple of seconds....it's because the Storage I/O couldn't keep up...

you can use the Androbench app to benchmark the Storage performance between Nexus 7 & 4 and you will find that it has one of the slowest (if not the slowest i've ever seen) NAND flash speed in terms of Random read/write...

hope that fixed this 2 things for the refresh..

I've never really justified the need for a tablet. If the next Nexus 7/8 comes out with a killer design, I might actually get one if it's affordable too. Hardware (specs) > Hardware (design) > software, for me.

Just a check..

I recently upgrade my line to 4g plan but still non lte compatible nexus 4.

I know the device doesn't support. But I somehow feel the mobile surfing experience better..

Anyone feel the same

I don't mean to contradict or challenge your tech info above (which all make sense) but somehow when I do a side-to-side speed tests between my N4 and N7, the N7 wins by a big margin.

Both my devices are stock 4.2.2 and not-rooted, and loaded with almost identical apps. When I use the same WiFi source in my living room for both devices, the N7 won by a wide margin - downloading a file from my DropBox, and browsing a particular website on Chrome. I have not done any benchmarking tests. Perhaps my N4 is not set up properly? Hmm...

Any design or hardware fault found on N4? Like over-depressed power button?

If you consider weak power buttons a hardware problem, then yes. Otherwise it's caused by normal wear and tear.

Gonna find some day go down LG to make noise already, I want to fix my cute little power button also so difficult. Online also no replacement parts for the power button..
