i did all that. they said for my set. they only can rma in usa. casue i bought it off a guy in sg who then never reply any of my messages.

Actl if you provide the IMEI number only its sufficient alrd. I also same as you cannot contact buyer then in the end i just give my IMEI number and they managed to trace the warranty and whether it was bought from Google Play so now i successfully RMA-ed alrd. You can email them in the follow up email and explain your situation.

no u cant.. its us

Actually you can, just that you must set up your account correctly and trick Google into thinking that you are living in the US.

1) Download ProxMate chrome extension from the chrome webstore. Enable it.
2) Set up a comgateway (or hopshopgo or anything else similar) account and obtain your US address.
3) Go to Google Wallet and change your home address to the US address including the phone number. Then delete all your credit cards with Singapore address. Add a new card (can be Singapore card. Im using a Singapore visa card) with the full US address.
4) Log out of your Google Play gmail account.
5) Clear everything (cache, history etc) from Chrome and close it
6) Reopen Chrome and go to play.google.com. It should be showing the full Play Store alrd.
7) Log into your Google account. When you go back it should still be showing the full site. If its not, give it some time to register your new US address. If it still doesnt work i guess you can redo steps 4-7.
8) Go to devices and buy whatever you want to buy.
9) After buying Google will send you a confirmation email. If all goes well after a few days they will send you another email telling you that the item has shipped and it will arrive at your US address after a few days. Then just ship back to SG.

Pardon me if these steps dont work for you because im writing all of this off hand and maybe i missed a few steps. If I remember something i will update this post again.

Singpost. Total cost was $23.55. Now just need to cross my fingers that the package doesn't get lost.

You used standard regular mail? and how do you prepare the shipping packaging? you use a bubble foam envelope or a box?

So has Google manage to receive your defective phone?

How long it's took?

Not yet. Still in the midst of sending. But previously weiyang76 also send via Singpost and he say it took 8 days to reach US and 10 to reach the repair centre.

yep can see, only after signing in then changed to local.

hmm maybe u can try and change the language (in Google Wallet\Payment methods\Settings) to US English and also make sure your home address is the US address.

i see, was the phone bumper included when you received the rma phone?

haven't receive the phone yet still shipping to CGW but nope it doesn't include the bumper one. If not Google kui ben alrd lor :s13:

i told them. these are their replies

I just received an update from the specialist.

At this time, refund and warranty replacement service from Google is only provided within the country from which your device was originally purchased. Under no circumstances can we cover international shipping costs to return your device to the original country of purchase. If you have any further questions regarding this policy feel free to reply to this email or contact us at 855-83NEXUS, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Please note that some manufacturers offer warranty repair service in select areas outside of the original country of purchase. Please check your device manufacturer's website to get more information about out of country warranty repair services.
If you want to get a replacement through us, here is what you will have to do.

You will need an American credit card to register on your Google Wallet account to order your replacement device.

You will have to designate the shipping address as your friends address and we can ship it to them, then they will have to ship it overseas to you.

Is this something that you would like to do?

ill need a us credit card on a amrican account. i only have a sg one

If you are really interested in the phone, should then consider using forwarder "buy for you" service.

At least, the handling fee isn't as exorbitant as what some outside shops are charging for the import sets.

I Just ordered 8GB. at that price, it's cheaper than china phone :)

I used securitykiss vpn, and UOB Amex virtual card + comgateway globaleshop (I used this method before to buy Nexus 7 without problem).

1st time purchase using the globaleshop is free delivery. really good deal.

Buyforme service from CGW is 5% off the price of Nexus 4+Ground shipping? Total: $258.99 5%=$12.95

Same for VPost (5%).

But those who have UOB CC, can also try their Virtual AMEX service.
