One big turn off is the battery life of the N4. No idea why but it seems quite pathetic compared to phones released in the second half of 2012, especially when it sprouts a 2100mAh non-removable battery

not surprise
since it have 2gb ram
although advantage is it is fast
but those apps you not using will be taking battery life
remember android phone will only kill apps that is no longer in use when it detect low ram
since you got plenty off ram
those unused apps are running in the back ground eating the battery life away

thats where task killer comes in
although there is a debate where task killer is a need in android phone
to me yes
1. to not let my task killer kill certain app
2. since now high ram, it make sense to kill those unused apps

Oh, i've no casing.
Switch off, remove battery cover, remove battery, insert battery, replace battery cover, switch on :D:D
Just removing 2 steps doesn't suddenly make it "Just as simple as taking one out and putting the other in", does it? :D

waiting for early local adopters to post their reviews... battery life, call quality and connectivity may vary in US, UK and here, especially now with so many people constantly on facebook while on the mrt

Battery life have been shown around, it averages around 3:50+ hours of on screen time (1d total usage) to 5:00 hours of on screen time with wifi (and 10h~ of total usage).

So its safe to say we'd expect to see 4 hours of on screen time on an average day, slightly better than the galaxy nexus but worse than most other phones.

So far I've been reading, everyone is singing praises about the snappiness of the phone and all, only complains are the glass, the space and the battery.

Also, NEXUS 4 BUMPERS IRL PICTURES!

They look really good. I feel so much safer using the bumper. I'll probably use the bumper + dual screen protector 1 at the back 1 at the front for protection.

I have no idea where you get your idea of apps in ram eating away battery life from... Source? I distinctively remember reading otherwise. Apps in ram don't do jack, they don't really take up any processing power or battery power in that sense, nor do they slow the phone down. Its Linux not Windows.

You gave me a scare.. I just tried. No problems. Using hotspot shield as well.

hmm, but since the battery door comes off relatively easily, much better than carrying an extended battery which requires another battery door or a charger around eh?

2 ways to check

1. go setting, abt phone, battery usage and see who is been eating the battery

2. down load any task killer, set the setting to low security in the task killer and see how many apps is actually eating the ram especially those who is prone to start itself

been using android since cupcake days and of course some apps are just bloat apps that can eat away battery juice

anyway
its a trade off
more powerful means something need to be sacrifice

u dont expect a ferrari car to have fuel efficient as a toyota car right

That does not answer the question at all...

It seems more like you have no clue what you are talking about.

Keeping data in your ram doesn't consume much more battery as you have said.

Not as easy to replace as you think. The battery is glued down.

$350 (phone price) + $15 (Google shipping) + $18 (forwarder shipping) = $383
$383 x 1.27 x 1.07 = $520.

That's the max I can come up with, care to show how you got $20 extra?
