I saw people using white galaxy nexus but personally I prefer the black/grey coloured one. The white one looks weird when you compare from the sides to the screen. Its oddly outstanding in my opinion. But of course this is just personal opinion.

a change of back cover, nexus and nexus7 to white.

Yeah I hate my white nexus. But oh well. I bought it cheap 2nd hand. So I'll contend with it.

AFAIK, Galaxy Nexus is the first google phone that came out in 2011 from the nexus product likne. It is google phone.

But Nexus 7 is tablet which was released back in July 2012.
So Nexus 7 and Google Nexus or Galaxy Nexus is different story.

Ok, so G1 is the first Google phone, while Nexus One is the first Nexus phone

i checked like for nexus7 on google playstore, got no option
to choose color, got 1 black only.

actually it is not entirely white.the display bezel is black but the phone i have is with a decal with screen protector.

One freight forwarding co I approached told me Google play store will charge 8.25% sales tax (on cost of phone +shipping). that'll be about USD30. You guys know how this works?
