Changing APN reset the issue but it will appear again within 24 hours. But I'm curious if that worked out for both of you.

Changed the APN, but its not working for me. When i am outside without wifi, i am virtually helpless..................

What cases are you guys using on the Nexus 4? Deciding between the Nillkin hard case, Nillkin leather, Rearth Ringke slim and Poetic Palette.

I using Nilkin Hard case. Feels very plasticky. but it's the only case that has the nice red color I like...

Original Bumper is high quality. Nice feel good button feel.

TPU S surve Case Horrible button feel, ugly.

Yup, that's the unfortunate problem with Nexus 4 and Starhub. That's why my own N4 is literally a paper weight on the desk.

i used to be plaqued with data drops. am on M1. changed franco's kernel and i haven't had anymore drops as of yet and latest franco's kernels have no hsic patches. all have been reverted to stock. . im not sure which helped cos i had downgraded my baseband to version 27. maybe u guys can try.

AFAIK, Data signal is related to baseband/modem.
kernels are related to WiFi signals.

so you changing kernels had no relation to you recent lack of data drops.
perhaps it is your baseband then. you can always try flashing different basebands to see which suits your area most.

That's correct. On CM, when there were signal problems, swapping the radio/modem/baseband solved them without changing rom and kernels.

Purpose of jumping through hoops to get Nexus 4 is to have the pure Android experience without the need to bother with roms or kernels. Rooting it to fiddle with third party nonsense defeat my personal purpose of using Nexus 4.

It shall remain as paper weight until that developer's 4.2.2 with v.44 baseband is release. Then N4 will meet Starhub again to see if there's anymore kokanadan behaviour.

[Kernel][GPL][anykernel][WIP] msm_hsic_host wakelock fix - xda-developers

No hsic wake lock issues and data drops...used for about 2weeks already
