If you don't store music, videos on your phone and don't install apps with large file sizes, 8gb internal storage is enough.

Both 8GB and 16GB are subjected to tax after adding on the Google shipping fee and shipping from US to SG.

8GB should be sufficient for your normal usage (call, text, whatapps, maps). Taking into consideration that the OS takes about 4GB storage, so usable storage is about 4GB.

ordered 8gb, was just under 400 sgd so did not pay tax. 8gb is enough for me as I don't install lots of 3d games.

Gotten enlightenment from other forumer, that Google shipping fee is not included, so probably it falls below $400 and not liable for tax.

If you're planning to root your Nexus, 8GB definitely not enough. One nandroid backup is approximately 1.5GB, and given that after OS and etc, you're left with 4GB, you're left with 2.5GB. you'll run out of space soon. Recommended to get the 16GB, 8GB honestly not worth it in the long run.

Google shipping fee may not be included but you still need to take into account USA to Singapore shipping fee.

Unless you managed to get the shipping fees below $20, you will most likely edge past the $400 mark

been using touchpad since i started using android phones, and it is free.
swype or swiftkey, 1 of them quite popular but got to pay.

My wife using go keyboard, seems good also

on the flipside, nandroid backup is not really that useful these days. If you need to restore a botch wipe, stock rom is always available to flash via usb. Titanium backups of 3rd party apps takes up less space and is just as useful.

Why? Personally I've not had nandroid backup on my devices since the Galaxy S several years ago....waste of space and rarely utilized.
