How do you know your RMA replacement set is refurbished? The replacement set I received looks like it is new.

Before I did a RMA, I enquired about this and the following was what I received from Google Support:


Thank you for your reply. I can see how you would be concerned about getting a refurbished device. Rest assured you will get a new device right out of the box.

The tray which holds the phone is broken already...so most likely is the previous owner abuse the box, RMA it, they fix it then send to me.

And aiyah maybe "refurbished" also considered "new" to them. I also got ask them they also say its "new". And now that they stop manufacturing the n4 alrd I think they're looking to clear their RMA stock

maybe your forwarder open or custom opened? then drop the phone. or maybe the guy delivering the phone open it to play. finished playing put back and deliver to you lor.

But the 2 black sticker on the bottom of the box stick intact leh...unless they take their time go stick another 2 more after opening, which is v unlikely

Check with The OpenSurface via Facebook, they may still have some stocks.

The 8gb will most likely not be re-stocked.

the backglass 'exploded' internally inside my pocket. There is a protruded crack.
Odd thing is that I did not do anything special when it happened.

Maybe overheat? idk.

Since there is a protrusion, i cannot put a fitting cover to hide it because of the bulge. Only can use the Silicon case for now
