i have both also, just that only use nexus 5 for a week then loan out. now i got it back, love the size and ability to text 1 handed.. but but but.. the battery life i really... sigh..

The battery life is still manageable. Did you root your phone and install custom kernel and hibernate unnecessary apps on the background?

I ever hit 6 hours screen on-time before I needed to charge at approx 14%. Of course I had to underclock my device since its not needed to run at 2.26ghz max since my daily activity such as Gmail, whatsapp won't require that much horsepower. Even games don't need it to run at max speeds.

back to nexus 5. i see if i can bring along a small powerbank. this one mafan cause also need a travel plug for the japan 2pin charger.

You can use another charger like I'm using between innergie's ac charger and Apple's ac charger.

But I have to say gaming takes alot out of the battery almost instantly.

does n5 last 12 hours? with lte bluetooth switched on, occasional 30min gameplay

i don't have LTE nor bluetooth switched on, mine's a US set so not LTE anyway, but mine lasts 12 hours quite uneventfully. I play games, surf facebook/websites, watch movies during my morning/evening commute, no problems.

It won't last that long based on my experience. I am only using 3G, no gaming, bluetooth always turned on from around 8am till 8-9pm, WIFI, GPS, auto sync always turned on. I have to charge twice a day. Having said that, I always charge my phone once it drops below 70% as long as I am in office/at home.

on the other hand, I have the common issue of the rattling button. at the beginning when I just unwrapped it, it was not rattling. after a few days (and a drop ), it started rattling. luckily my case muffled the sound a lot.

I only checked once or twice on the screen on time, probably around 2-3hrs, never really bother/remember to check. On days when I am messaging a lot, usually I have to charge 2-3 times a day.

15hrs certainly looks a lot to me, especially if after 15hrs you still have 44% battery left. As a more concrete example probably will be on weekends if I go out for 4-5hrs, usually when I get back my battery should have dropped below 50%. I don't usually use it continuously for a long period of time, but on-off often.

Again, as I mentioned, I always charge whenever I can charge and battery level drops below 70%. I like to keep my phone charged just in case.

just migrated from a gnexus to a n5 today. anyone used widgetsoid on the n5? does it work well? was also wondering if there are any alternatives to widgetsoid since it looks like it hasnt been updated for quite some time..

Yup, I also minimise the amount of running background processes as well. The idle time is good, but once screen on/streaming radio, etc, can notice the battery drops quite fast. In fact, it gets pretty hot by just listening to online radio.

My friend runs a shopping service from Australia that can get you an Aussie Nexus5 model for a really good price - the 32 GB model is AUD$645 inclusive of shipping to either Singapore or Malaysia.

32 GB model only have white colour in stock now though. 16 GB should be cheaper but I don't know the price for that one.

I got an offer of $540 for 16gb black D281, stated to be HK set. Is HK set 4G? Also, at the back of the box with the label sticker, will it state the D281?

And, hows the quality of nexus 5 frm LG so far? Read a lot of bad QC for Nexus 4, so a bit skeptical about it.
