Don't bother to use outside those cheap cables, 10/10 cannot speed charge

I'm using my nexus 7 charger output is 1.5A I think.

But phone still charging at 1A max.

Usb charge is 500ma. But with kernel hack you can achieve 800 to 900ma.

In order to do AC charge, the data pins must be shorted.

It's internally shorted inside the ac adaptor, I check b4

I suspect the adaptor you are using now did not short the data pins.

Why not use back the original adaptor? You just have to buy apin converter

nobody uses wireless charging?
That is one of the key feature of the Nexus 5.

Not the loudest out there and nowhere near boomsound but it's better than my G2.

For headphone volume,still iPhone is the king. Half way and already loud whereas on Androids need to normally set to 75% to achieve same volume.

Tried volume+,etc but no dramatic effect. Even paid for the app before. Bummer

Software enhancement is useless.

for volume, you need kernel level tweaks.

Are you rooted? if yes, get a custom kernel that has gain tweaks such as Franco kernel.

You can increase the headset, mic, speaker and overall volume gain.

Franco even added some audio patches that made the audio sound better.

I am using IEM though, so i don use the gain tweaks for headset but I added gain for speaker, as you all know the speaker on the N5 is quite soft

As I said before, the volume on my Red Nexus sounds much louder than my G2s.
That is quite an obvious improvement.

Did they do any hardware improvement to the Red ones?

Any other Red Nexus owners have soft volume issues?

Should be the same manufacturing enhancements they implemented since the 312 batch of nexus 5

What's IEM? I'm finding the notification tones and ring tones real soft on Nexus 5. Don't really wish to root or flash any stuff just for that.. But it sure is quite a bummer.

Based on my experience with my wireless charger, it charges reasonably fast even though I plug it into a USB3 port on my PC. In fact, this way it charges faster compared to use a wired charger of my HTC One (1A).

Comparing the above to use N5 factory charger via wired and wireless, the wireless charging speed considerably fast as well.

For reference, I am using Koolpad Qi charger.

There's no hardware revision changes since 310k. Probably placebo.

I really feel like laughing when people started to ask this kind of question. It's a valid question. However, how can one compare a Note 3 with a Nexus 5? Obviously, Note 3 is better in all hardware aspects. I see no reason why one wants to compare Note 3 and Nexus 5, or even considering to change from Note 3 to Nexus 5.

Yes, I find the charging speed acceptable too. But charging with cable is definitely faster.

But it is the convenience that kills everything else. I can place it on the Qi charger and when I want to use the phone, just remove it without the hassle of cables. It is a really good thing to use especially when I am in the office.

I also bought the battery pack with in-built Qi pad.

Camera is ok. G2 wins with wider field of view.
I find N5 camera very similar to Samsung's, ie narrower FOV.

Overall. the quality is good. I think when we move from 8mp => 12mp => 16mp,
we see diminishing returns. Only the file size gets bigger.
For average users, N5's camera is good enough.

Yeah! Even my iPhone is wireless now for syncing and charging.

Guess convenience is the key point and no need to pull in and out.

But occasionally for if really need fast charge, then no choice have to use cable.
