I have an issue with my Nexus 5 Australia Set. Is there any package forwarding services in Australia i can use? Google Play Australia will only send locally

Actually u also can call US play store to request for RMA with Japan then at least easier to arrange Japan forwarder. Can be requested one ;)

Hi bro can check with you did the google support ask you to fill in a form from this link? https://efulfillment.sakura.ne.jp/returnsolutions/nexus_accessory

No need to use this form unless you are located in Japan. Its for the courier to come pickup the package.

You can just ship it at singpost to the above RMA Centre with the guide you quoted.

RMA Japan Set

I've tried emailing googleplay-support@google.com as suggested by saltyman but I got an email giving me a link to contact them. There is a call back service but I was put on hold for more than an hour when the automated service called me back late last night and this afternoon.

I tried calling the support team in US as suggested by another member saying they can help but the agent at US support insisted that they do not have the ability to help with a Japan set and I was given a number to call Japan Support at 0120950065. This number is also reflected in Google Support Page for Japan. However, I have tried all ways but I can't get through the number because I am not sure how to dial that number. I know Japan IDD code is +81 but it still didn't work.

Can some kind soul please advise me on how I can get the set RMA? Thank you.

Yes, quite easily done. Buy from ebay, keyword:Battery BL-T9. Note some models use tri-point screws, you may need special tool or a very narrow straight head screwdriver.

My battery life has been getting worse and worse nowadays. Fresh off an overnight charge at 100%, it shows 9+ hours left. Would a battery replacement help?

Hey there galapogos, I would say it's normal. I got a second hand N5 last April till October 14, and experienced a noticeable and gradual degradation of the battery life. I then sold it off and got a brand new N5 from November 14 till now, and I'm definitely noticing the battery not lasting as long as when I got it brand new yet again.

Pretty sure a battery replacement would help, but getting authentic N5 batteries is a problem, I would think.

It shows 9-11 hours left when it's freshly charged, still at 100%. I remember it used to show 20+ hours.

I see the following N5 (BL-T9) batteries on Amazon that claim to be OEM:
Amazon.com: Genuine OEM Google Nexus 5 LG D820 D821 2300mAh Battery BL-T9 3.8V 8.74Wh: Cell Phones & Accessories
http://www.amazon.com/LG-Internal-B...id=1424827303&sr=8-4&keywords=nexus+5+battery
http://www.amazon.com/LG-Internal-R...id=1424827303&sr=8-8&keywords=nexus+5+battery

Are they legit?

Also, how easy is it to replace the battery?

My nexus 5 earphone port is faulty. Tried contacting the CSO and got the following reply.

There needs to be a person in Japan that you can send your defective device to, they will need to contact us on this number 0120-950-065 (Google support for Japan) when they have your device and quote this reference number xxxx. Then we can send your replacement device to this person and they will need to have the defective device returned to Google, then they can forward the replacement device to you in Singapore.

Seems like they don't have the receive phone then send back policy?

Hmmm BTW bro I just replaced my battery and initially was showing 20+ hour fresh off the charger and later when it dropped to 90 percent it shows less than 10 hours, maybe could be the software auto refreshes the hours remaining based on the current battery usage.

As for the Amazon batteries, I think its better you buy the power99 or smth brand. Cause I also bought from the link you posted, apparently was not legit and battery life was the same as my one year old battery

Thanks for the heads up. After some more research, it seems that it is pretty difficult to find genuine LG Nexus 5 batteries.

Additionally, it seems that battery life shouldn't decrease by too much within a year, perhaps 20% or so, and that usage patterns may account for the battery drain. To that end, I've disabled the known battery hogs such as Google Fit and Smart Lock via BT, but that doesn't seem to help much. Battery settings shows Facebook as the #1 app.

Am not sure about the authenticity about those batteries as I haven't thought about replacing it. But I'm pretty sure replacing it shouldn't be of much difficulty. There are tons of videos tutorials out there that shows how to crack open the N5 and replace the battery.
