believe me when I said i chased the peeps over at LG Singapore & Google Singapore in the weeks leading up to the launch, and on Friday.

The LG folks told me that the Nexus 5 is not up to them to decide even though they are the manufacturer. Google decides, not them.

As to whether LG SG has N5 units or prototypes, I do not know either. but its approved in IDA website already so .... .... I still think LG SG will price the N5 quite exp so as to not harm the sales of its G2.

If you look at how the Nexus 4 is priced here then you will know how much N5 will be priced. Basically Google and LG will band together and chop Singaporeans as usual.

same here i ordered yesterday 9pm+ and now shipped . from jp playstore.

blazing fast service from japan. hope that its not japanese language during phone startup.

dun think is an issue, Nexus devices first boot lets you choose language selection, I think probably iPhone is the same?

just checking australia google store is OOS alr right. any idea u all know ?

I ordered yesterday around 2pm.. no confirmation email but received sms this morning 6am that amount was charged.

Login Ibank and amount is on hold already.. using debit card..

but still not ship status pending..

those sets that are shipped using Credit or Debit?

Just wondering... if the google singapore store news is real and N5 can be purchase in local play store + warranty... how would you all who bought in from japan/AU feel???

local set may launch, but playstore? may not even happen this year.. we'll feel happy we bought cheaper than SG RRP

Depends, if your set is from US/JP.

They can say they can't service sets with power specifications not same as SG at all.
Afterall, they don't have to stock spares for overseas sets.
They don't really have to obligate, depends on service level.

what power specs? it's the same microUSB standard 5V 500mAh/1A USB charging... internally the battery is the same..

As for warranty, don't worry about it.

Google will send you the phone before you need to send the phone back to them. If the phone is sent from LG Electronics USA, it will only cost you total S$35 (all packaged + tracking) for the freight (to and fro).

One thing to note people, is that you need to apply for extension as you are sending from overseas. It took me 18-20 days for the phone to arrive at US customs (8 days) and delivery from customs to LG Electronics (10-12 days).

No email received whatsoever.

Nov 3.
Went back into play store to check, status is now set to pending..
Still no email.

I'm beginning to lose hope.

Ordered from JP Play Store at 10PM 1st Nov and immediately got a pending status, received a bank charge notification on the 2nd Nov 2AM & today on the 3rd Nov at 3AM just got an email plus tracking number that my Nexus is shipped!

BTW if you call a company up, and ask the CSO if a certain product will be launched.

It's pretty standard that the CSO will just tell you that it is not confirmed until they really received confirmation from their management.

For Today to say that it will be launched, i bet they must had communicated with the managment level.

Since it takes a few weeks to wait anyway, as well wait and see for a little while more.

For sure there will be other parallel importers who will bring in for you anyway.

BTW, FYI, I called up LG Singapore and Google Singapore and spoke to the management team.
