anyone had use jshopper to forward their N5 to Singapore?
Will they open the N5 box/package?
Will they ask you to declare item cost?

Brown box - Yes will open to check content.
Nexus box - most likely no.
Declare item cost - yes.

Not all device supports wireless charging. In fact it's still quite a novelty. Even within wireless charging, there are several different standards. Nexus line is using the Qi standard. So if you buy a Qi charger, it will not work with other wireless chargeable devices which are using different standards. However it's very likely that future Nexus lines will continue sporting the Qi standard.

Alternative for buying JP Nexus 5

Hello all, new to the forum here. Have been following this thread but never posted.

Just like to share an alternative to buying the JP Nexus 5 set with everyone, which was what I used and received my N5 today - Using a Japanese personal shopper. I compared a few quotes from different companies and found this to be lowest from Bridge.jpn (google Bridge.jpn)

Total damage for a 32GB black set = ¥50765 ~ SGD$630

1st Payment before they order from Google Store = ¥49000 (Unit price + handling fee + shipping handling + 4% Paypal charges)

2nd Payment before they ship item over to Singapore = ¥1765 (EMS delivery + optional additonal insurance coverage + 4% Paypal Charges)

From the date instructions given to bridge.jpn to place order (11 Nov) to package arrival at my house (20 Nov). Could have been 2 days earlier if I could reply to one of their emails 2 days earlier.

*Note: When item reaches bridge.jpn facility, they will have to open the box to inspect that the lithium battery is installed into unit otherwise phone can't be mailed, according to Bridge.jpn

I think they just want to see the that the battery is not external (i.e. can be removed)?? or something like that? otherwise they might not be able to ship it due to aviation Dangerous Goods restrictions?

the n5 box is sealed when it arrives...so i don't think they open it..well not for tenso at least...

even if they try to open the tape (which i think is made of some kind of paper material) as careful as possible and seal it back after, its very obvious and noticeable...the paper-ish tape will crease and it looks so obvious...i've tried using even a razor blade to peel away the tape as carefully as possible and try to put it back...it doesn't work :s13:
