Hello all, new to the forum here. Have been following this thread but never posted.

Just like to share an alternative to buying the JP Nexus 5 set with everyone, which was what I used and received my N5 today - Using a Japanese personal shopper. I compared a few quotes from different companies and found this to be lowest from Bridge.jpn (google Bridge.jpn)

Total damage for a 32GB black set = ¥50765 ~ SGD$630

1st Payment before they order from Google Store = ¥49000 (Unit price + handling fee + shipping handling + 4% Paypal charges)

2nd Payment before they ship item over to Singapore = ¥1765 (EMS delivery + optional additonal insurance coverage + 4% Paypal Charges)

From the date instructions given to bridge.jpn to place order (11 Nov) to package arrival at my house (20 Nov). Could have been 2 days earlier if I could reply to one of their emails 2 days earlier.

*Note: When item reaches bridge.jpn facility, they will have to open the box to inspect that the lithium battery is installed into unit otherwise phone can't be mailed, according to Bridge.jpn

Hi bro thanks for the info ! Learn something new today

I heard that rooting and unlocking boot loader void warranty.

Is it true for Google Play store?

Hi,

I am interested in getting an N5 (usually read HWZ but never posted here so here's my first..) but I am worried about the warranty because if we buy it from overseas we cannot repair it in sg right?

If warranty's not an issue I would most likely be looking for someone to share shipping costs or help me buy or something (because I've had no luck buying it off google play directly)

Thanks!

Trying to get this from HK now. But it is such a pain cos all our CC rejected. KNS

Chances are I'm will ask a HK friend to help me buy. So it's not so nice for me to get so many sets from him.

Sorry to all the Bros out there who PMed me.

If you can't get over the warranty issue, then no need proceed already.

Actually there is warranty, just that you need to send back to country of origin at your own cost, or you are able to get SG LG to repair at a cost like some US N4 owners here.

My Nexus 5 is officially in Singapore as of this morning. Customs cleared and everything. But tracking seems to show that it's parked at DHL's 'Delivery Facility' without any signs of it changing to 'Out on Delivery'.

I'm just hoping they won't delay it till tomorrow.

Call them and ask, can also arrange for tonight's delivery.

Order from Google Play Oz

Was trying to buy a unit from Play in Australia. Initially the order went through. Was going to send to a friend's place and have him bring it back for me. After two days, Google cancelled my order. Dammit. The reason is that the CC and the ship to country are not the same. WTF? Now have to ask my friend to buy and pay for me first.
