I tried OCBC, HSBC, UOB, SCB with all no luck. Attempting to buy it from HK Play Store due to the fact that I will be travelling there in two weeks time. Shipping address is identical to the billing address, of my friend's office over there in HK island.

All I always get is "order cancelled due to the shipping and billing address bla bla" email.

What's wrong here? Do they also know if CC is issued by SG banks? Afaik I have been charged 8HKD for verification purpose though.

not really required to be a tourist, anyone (even aussie citizens) can claim GST refund in Aussie as long as it was meant for overseas consumption and to be brought out of the country..

Advice for travellers

As of 17 April 2013 changes to the requirements for making a claim under the Australian Government’s Tourist Refund Scheme (TRS) will come into effect.

The key changes are:

Travellers can claim through the tourist refund scheme on purchases made up to 60 days before leaving Australia (under old regulations they had 30 days). This will apply to sales made on or after 17 April 2013.
Travellers can submit more than one tax invoice to make their claim, as long as each is a valid tax invoice from the one Australian Business Number retailer and the total value of goods purchased is $300 or more (including GST).

The TRS is open to all overseas visitors and Australian residents, except operating air and sea crew.

if only Singaporeans bringing items/gifts out of singapore can claim GST at Changi.. (alternative is buy at airport so no GST)..

It uses next to no battery life because of BT LE.

Mine is connected 24/7 and I see no difference before and after.

It's very dependent on what apps are installed, and if tweaking is done. Before I did a complete wipe (previously did Titanium restore from N4) and using a custom kernel, it was abysmal, off and on screen.

Also, if you have bad LTE or HSPA reception in the area you are constantly, that is a huge factor as well, at least from what I observed.

Long story short, it's bad or good depending on your luck. No one can say it's bad and expect it to apply to everyone, and vice versa.

There's no foolproof way, you either get lucky or you don't. Methods that worked last time might suddenly not work for others, even if followed exactly.

Did you use your local Google account? Or you can try asking your friend to use his Gmail to order, should go through if it's a hk Google account.
