Hi all, I just gotten a Red Nexus 5 yesterday, my first time owning a Nexus. Some questions,


1. How do I save a new number straight to sim card, I couldn't find any of the settings.


2. Any settings to show the battery percentage beside downloading apps?

For 1: there should be an option appearing when you wanna save a new number. Can change between phone only, sim only or google. Save to google cause next time you change phone it will all be in once you sign in.

For 2: unless you root and flash other Roms, if not I think the only option is to just download app like battery widget reborn to display batt life.

u guys give singapore too much credit..it's just a tiny speck and the number of users that will be a nexus at full price (without subsidies from telco) is even smaller.

take a population of 4+ million, calculate that 75% of us are using smartphones which is 300000,i reckon only at max 1% of these 300000 which is 30000 will be potential customers. Setting up a shop in singapore just to sell 30000 devices that doesn't have high profit margin (the nexus device were selling near cost price)...there is just no business case for it. I very much like google to sell it in singapore official too but facts are facts...it WILL NEVER happen.

I agree, though they could just sell and ship it from the same place they ship it to their US customers.

There's no reason for selective shipping, even worse, for customers who aren't the intended market in the first place.

Sad to say. sometimes certain products are not meant for Singapore region. Buy phone no warrenty nvn still got scared got limitation like LTE & software compatibility. Some companies dont want our $.

Thanks for your reply. The option appearing is just phone or google. There is no sim option. However u meant by google if when I sign in to my google account, all my numbers will appear in my contact without import?

Xiaomi didn't become no5 world biggest mobile makers within 3 years for nothing. And Singapore is one of their few first markets to penetrate into.

That goes to show "how far fetch" Google's mind and business strategy is.

They could just sell it slightly higher in Singapore like what other makers are doing. Having a higher profit margin to informed buyers is always better than selling at cost to huge ignornant populations.

BTW google did sell the galaxy nexus and nexus 4 officially here but dunno why it didn't happen for nexus 5. Strange.

They didn't sell it off contract from the play store. We don't have devices available to purchase via play store.

The SGP google play store to me is useless. Offer nothing but apps download.

The nexus 5 is also available as export set even till now so those who really wanted it could have gotten one just that it wasn't available to purchase with a phone contract, not that I'll recommend it also, better off to recontract another phone to sell it off then purchase the nexus 5.

Breakfixnow at bugis, beside woaitaimei.

I got my cracked screen repair there, not sure about the camera module tho.
Plus, its a 3rd party parts, contrasts and the vividness not as good as original screen.

I've been using Cyanogenmod (snapshot), but updates have sometimes been unstable and. I've had to roll back. CM has been great on my previous phones, but seem lacking on the Nexus (both 5 and 7 (2013).

Would prefer a stable, problem free rom if possible...

I've been using Cyanogenmod (snapshot), but updates have sometimes been unstable and. I've had to roll back. CM has been great on my previous phones, but seem lacking on the Nexus (both 5 and 7 (2013).

Would prefer a stable, problem free rom if possible...

Slim ROM for me. Reliable, good battery life also!

You can also check out SlimROM by other dev using different toolchain + their optimization.

I'm using robbie's slimROM
