Out of curiosity, I gave 'em a ring just now and I was told the spare parts have not arrived yet! :s22:

I sent in on 01-04-2012, telling me it would take at least 3 working days or more. They called me on 04-04-2012 and said it would take another 7-14 working days for the spares to arrive.

I counted on the calendar for the worst-case scenario; the spare parts can reach here as late as 25-04-2012 (which is my birthday) and I'm not sure how long their staff would take for the screen replacement exercise.

I asked her if I could take it back first. She hinted it's not possible by saying, "We have already sent it in."

I just wanna cry. :spin:

Guys, for those who have send in your phone, your phone will be the priority list for the LCD screen to be replaced once the LCD stocks arrived which will be around this week or latest by next week.

Please give it some time at the LCD stocks have not arrived so the service centre is unable to get your screen replaced.

In this case, it's better to stick to the phone till stocks are here for the replacement. Can't stand going back to my backup phone, Nokia E51.

Yes, that is why CSO will advise customer to leave down their contact number and name if they dun mind using the phone first instead of leaving the phone there.

ya...probably send to msia for repair. think local set up repair centre too exp.

Hmm.. from my 2-year-old knowledge lah...

Some of you might know I had issues with Rachael waking up from sleep mode in the past (Thanks to this i got to know and befriend some cute chicks from Junction 8's service center =X)

Back then I was told the place where they are doing all those major repairs involving parts was somewhere around Changi.

Dunno about now

If its only the display, they will repair locally. If they sent it to who knows where, maybe you will get a new set.

Phone call is useless. Previously I go there & make noise because of their communication error then I get what I want.

Im not asking you to make trouble, but just try to get your way. :D

Nah. They sent my Rachael to who-knows-where to change motherboard, and I received the same Rachael with the same scratched areas. Only difference is she had a new soul. Lol.

hi rick korkor
i understand. i would probably feel the same too
we all want the phone in perfect/good condition when we buy it new
and especially when we spend so much on it
unfortunately, there will be lemons in all electronics and others
the good thing is, sony is willing to replace it tho the wait is a tad long
what is MKL? :s11:

Sorry..generation gap...LOL....MKL means Mai-Kong-Liao (Hokkien, meaning dun wanna say anymore...admitting defeat..)

What's the price of 1 month old Xperia S with smart tags, wireless keyboard and docking station going for nowadays? Seriously thinking of selling. My previous HTC Desire was quite good, but with all the horror stories about HTC X......

Maybe considering Galaxy Note...but probably will have to modify my office pants with cargo pockets...?!?

Thank you for your kind and informative encouragement.

My job function somewhat deals with logistics and arranging shipments for vessel supplies (Oil&Gas). I know there are ways to move things around the globe swiftly, of course, at a dear price. I guess SONY is cutting cost on the shipment. So slow. Just saying. :D

It's part of their restructuring efforts to get back on the track again. Xperia S and other future products might be their attempts to get positive earnings once again.

That's still okay, my backup phone is my army phone Nokia 8250 :-(

The good thing is I only need to charge once in 3 days. And the phone won't get heat up after playing hours of snake!

If I still have major issues on my XS after receiving it back from the service center, I think I'm gonna have to start to learn to try to like other brand names like HTC, Samsung, Apple, etc, etc. :s8:

I haven't tried to personally go down to the Service Center and demand for retrieving the handset by saying terrible things like, "I want to see your Manager!"

So, I have no idea how cooperative SONY staff can be on this early retrieval request.

I'm telling myself to just wait for it. When they eventually return it to me, I hope they have authentically fixed it so that it's worth the long wait. Otherwise, my loyalty to SONY will most-likely be terminated. :frus:

Oh and about the major issues, I don't have any that can be considered major, I think. I would say this yellow tint glitch can become a critical case based on the fact that one of XS' strengths is its beautiful screen. With the screen somewhat defected, it's no longer special. I can forgive the battery life and even don't care about the ICS update that much.
