Battery Life update

11+ Hours, 63% left, mostly connected on WiFi, screen on for >1 hour, average brightness = 50%, Background Data enabled, Autosync disabled

Phone was attached to low power sub-notebook USB port for the purpose of demonstrating how to drag and drop from the phone to a Windows based PC via Drag and Drop

Phone was mainly used to demo to clients on how to operate the Contacts List, Quick Camera launch, HDMI streaming, quality of video recording in different lighting conditions, speaker loudness, and a bit of personal twitter and facebook plus some very minimal websurfing with Opera Mobile

Phone has not been rooted, not yet willing to unlock bootloader for this one yet, not till I get to field test the P

IMPORTANT NOTE: I have Go Switch Widget right on my frontpage/homescreen to toggle Data traffic, so I turn Data Traffic 'Off' whenever I put the phone to 'sleep'.

Wahh... How the heck u get that kinda results? :s11:

Mine officially 1 week liao. Last night charge full, plug off. Wake up in da morning 8hrs left 65%... 35% gone.. :(
Data Off, on Wifi, Background data on, Sync off.

The entire work week have do a full charge minimum 2x per day~ Mostly whatsapp, facebook, twitter, some random mins of draw something... And i think about 30mins of phone call total per day~

Was using single point touch focus, so I had the cam focus on the flattie (flat tailed gecko)

BG Data allows apps that can update themselves to update themselves if allowed (e.g FB notifications, mail and such)

As for the battery, I actively switch between enabling and disabling Data Traffic (aka network access), and if need be, calling in on Airplane Mode (but I didn't really, hence you see no reds on my Mobile Network bar

Anyways, update in the morning leaving the phone uncharged overnight while I was asleep (note, my battery is [robably much more seasoned in compared to most of yours due to me having had the phone for 3+ weeks now)

Previous time was 0103, these shots were taken at 0900

Would like to ask fellow users here. I'm trying to customize my icons. So I got the icons in my mac and transfer it via bridge. It is saved under "pictures" in my phone. Is this correct? It is still under the "sdcard" right?

Sorry, I really live up my name. :s22:

Quoted from a Sony Mobile forum moderator today:

"All updates are very much region specific and dependant on the individual networks in each region providing acceptance on any update we release. if PC Companion has said that you have the latest version, then you do for the network/region your handset was made for. I would advise checking again in a week or so, though I would imagine ICS is not that far away."

How you guys wanna take this, I leave it to you guys

Gonna sleep now... Zzzz

It's better to have a product slightly late, but optimized, rather than early and full of bugs

You should look at the XDA dev forums, many folks are complaining about their SGS2 ICS update practically breaking stuffs

Happy with my arc S ICS update so far, with added functionality like Wifi Direct, proxy server setup, font size changing, improved battery life, ICS Gallery (view images in their native resolution, unlike the Android 2.x gallery), super smooth interface scrolling

For the record, ICS for the G.Nexus was a train wreck when first released.

The Nexus line of phones maybe the first to get the updates, but they're the first ones to get hit with the worst possible bugs as well (e.g phonecall reception from another phone taking phantom control of the G.Nex's volume button)
