Ugh, I've to admit, this is one of the more frustrating phones I've tried to upgrade to.

I have to say, I love the hardware, the screen is amazing, the UI is solid, the feel is good. Some slight niggles about how the power on/off button is in a really stupid location, the need to open/close dust cover for the micro-usb port, but it's all stuff I could live with. Then I started using the damn thing.

I was moving over from a Sensation XE, and so, started by importing contacts. Was wondering why my contacts weren't imported from google, as usually, when I change androids, my contacts will appear magically once I sign into my google account. Took me an hour to figure out that the XS has an automatic filter, and I had to unfilter to see my contacts.

Then I tried importing my itunes playlists to the phone, using Sony's software. All songs copied, but the playlists were missing. I fiddled around with the software, and somehow, through some random send here/send there, I was able to get one playlist out of 5 onto the phone. Others just refused to go. Finally, did it using Winamp to transfer my playlists and songs.

Then, the last straw came when I was trying to use my headsets to listen to music. So my Klipsh does not work, neither does my Denon headset. I've realised that pressing the volume down button kinda makes it work, only that the mic on the headsets will not work if you do this. So only the Sony headset provided will work with this. Which is really disappointing because I read about how the Xperia S will now have wider support for most headsets, including iphone compatible ones.

I don't think upgrading should be so painful? When I changed other Android phones, things just worked. A quick sync, a quick login, and all my stuff is there. This is the first time I spent an entire night figuring out how to get the phone to do the things I want. Even moving from my old iphone to an Android was not this painful.

So now, my sim card is back in my Sensation XE, and I have a very expensive paperweight. Anyone want to buy a slightly used Xperia S?
I am using the klipsch s4a with no probs. just need to download the klispch control app onto your xperia s

LOL, it took me a week to fully customise to my preference. I got 600 contacts to copy over and I am still doing it. The phone is perfect plus now the batteries run in season it last at least 24 without recharge. I just think u need to be patient.

I am changing from xperia x10 mini pro to this monster.. geez it is the best phone ard and plus it make HEADS turn. After I show my XS to my friends they are really impress with this phone.
ANDROID=spend time to customise ur needs.
How much u intend to let go for tat xs? I might have customers for u:s13:

I'm a long time android user, so I do know my way around it, I've moved 3 android phones so far, and this is honestly the most frustrating one ever.

But anyway, the main thing is that I use my headset way way too much, so I can't use this phone cos it isn't compatible with any iphone enabled ones, and I've only found iphone enabled ones with mics at the kind of quality I'm looking for so far....

Brother, you should use the default earpiece instead and the sound quality is not bad also.

The tap tap app does not work well on my xs. I saw on youtube it works great on a htc phone.

Also, I dont like the idea of the proximity sensor running & sucking juice while in sleep mode.

Battery indicator will not be accurate if charge like this in long term, and xs does not encourage change of battery. :D

Then this XS is lousy liao. :)

Mobile battery is on the go charging just in case it need more juice. But if it has to charge full...i see no point in a mobile charger. Might as well dun go out and just stay in office/home. :s13:

FM reception is usually depend on location
its a hit or miss usually
but I find x's FM reception not bad better than my arc s
tats why I use a dedicated mp3 cum FM from sony

as for battery Carl's recommended battery ya its faster on the output current to device but it cost more than mine so depend on the person willing to pay more lor

My own experiences with arc & arc s. Last time the battery was not fully charged & the battery indicator was not accurate - goes flat at 10 - 15%. I had to recalibrate my battery again. :D

It does not matter whether the mobile charger is for full/half charge since there are many mobile chargers in market, cater to many people of different views.

People have choices - choose a lower capacity & get half charge or choose a higher capacity & get full charge. Unless you are have budget, then its another story. :D
